    I had used standard CCI small rifle primers in my .17 rem. At loads below max, I was getting holes in primers. Read in James Calhoun website that standard small primers, the metal is thinner. I switched to a magnum CCI small rifle, no more pierced primers. Just my 2 cents worth....

    Have used Rem, Win and CCI in my M1 and other 06 Milsurps. Only issue was ball powder ignition with standard primers, had to go to the CCI magnums primers when I switched to using Ball C2 and WIN 748.
