I found it good for small batchs less then 50 pc of brass.

As with most tools you get what you pay. For.

Don't even think of cleaning anything case colored in one or you will have an expensive restore on your hands.

I bought an RCBS the ultrasonic cleaner a year ago. Used their cleaner. no problems. I like clean brass. I tumble for 3/4 hrs. Deprime, then sonic clean with heat for about an hour. Brass basically looks brand new. Main reason, keeps press and dies much much cleaner.
When Cleaning gun parts I use Froglube solvent cleaner and then do a full Froglube treatment. After that guns are much easier to clean after a trip to the range. 😆

The problem with an ultrasonic for cleaning guns is that you have to fully disassemble the gun anyway, why not just clean it by hand? It's actually quicker than waiting for your ultrasonic to work.

If you clean assembled parts in an ultrasonic, the dirt loosens and then floats around in the assembly, gumming it up worse.

Works good for cleaning metal mags also. So you take your striker fired pistol apart to clean it? When done in clean ATF you can see the gunk coming out of what you thought was a clean slide.

I have the Harbor Freight. I got it to clean Scuba valves and regulators. I have used it on gun parts and cases. It works. I have never used an expensive top of the line ultrasonic. I am sure they work better than the cheep HF one. But the HF one does work.

I purchased a used medium sized commercial grade unit off EBay years ago and saved considerable $ compared to comparable new unit. Use it for cleaning parts, brass, suppressors. Amazing what the thing will do. It will turn your brass funny colors using certain solutions though.

I bought one of the Hornady 9 liter machines...the ones big enough to hold an AR upper. It's a wonderful contraption and I'm glad I bought it...

Thank you for your positive reply about the Hornady 9L. A few details, if you will, with your AR or any firearm so cleaned in the "...wonderful contraption...".

I have an omega sonics cleaner. For brass, your better off with a stainless steel media tumbler. It works great for removing cosmolene on gun larts. It definitely does work good for gun parts. I got it for free. If it broke I wouldnt bother buying another one. It works, but for the money you would have to spend to get a good one, it's not worth it.

I have the Hornady One-Shot, and both cleaner solutions; cartridge brass, and pistol parts formulas. DO NOT us the brass cleaner solution for pistol parts, unless you want to strip off all the blueing. Otherwise, the machine works WONDERFULLY!
