    M24 Mauser extractor interchangeability

I have a Serbian Model 1924 with a broken extractor. I'm interested in learning about parts compatibility (of lack thereof) to help me on my quest. My knowledge of Mauser's is zero. Thank you.

Should readily exchange with any other standard Model '98 Mauser extractor as made by several countries. German, Czech, Belgian, etc. should work. They did make an "intermediate" size action after WW II. Best thing would be to measure the length of your broken part and then order a replacement from Gun Parts Corp. and specify the length of the one you've got to assure receiving the correct replacement.

The length of the extractor may vary. Some 98s were slightly shorter than typical. Maybe measure the length and try to compare. I know not all 98 bolts will interchange.

Here is a quote from the article in the link:

"Model 1924 Mausers are intermediate action Mausers with a large receiver ring and a short action."

Given that, I'd say you'll need to find a short action extractor. They should be available at the various surplus sites as numerous Yugos were imported in the late 80s and the early 90s.
    Keep your powder dry,

Mauser Marty should be able to provide parts for you. I needed and bought a band spring for the Model 24/47 from him and he at one time had a ton of parts for the Serbian mausers. His phone number is: 208-316-4644. Might be a good place to start. james
