    He he he
    What luck
I was on the way to pick up a buddy to take him to the hospital and wait for
a short procedure to be performed.
So on the way out I grabbed the bound set of 1956 American Rifleman to read while I waited.

The press is featured May 1956 page 84 for an advertisement
and again August 1956 page 76 for a field test

    Fun, fun

Thanks Mike, that is luck and you just saved me a lot of trouble.

FYI, I/ARTCA owns the press and for a substantial amount less than full asking price.

Oops, dead end Mike. The ad you found on page 84 is for the H&W turret press, another very rare press. The test in August is for the C-H Magnum H press configures to reload shotshells.

The August 56 is for the H&W Turret press.

Starts out " Latest loading tool to appear on the market is the H&W "Turret" model manufactured by Harpster & Williams of Phillipburg, Pa.

OK, finally now I see, you need a H&S and not an H&W

    I will look

The press arrived at its new home today. It needs a good scrubbing but is in very good condition. Three die stations, the fourth fits the drop tube for the Lyman 55 powder measure. 1.5 turns of the crank to raise or lower the ram. Thread on shellholders, Echo and Herter's will fit. All aluminum construction, weighs nearly nothing. Turret rotation is effortless and butter smooth. Impressive.

Sal, that's a good idea. I need to reload some pistol ammo for a couple of handguns I just picked up, and maybe 308. I'd like to see how well it full length resizes.

Beeser, the ram is operated by a crank. one and one half turns up or down. The right pic shows the turret latch. Push it down spin the turret to the next notch. Really simple, makes the turret rotate very smoothly and easily.
