That is an interesting press. I've never heard about or seen one before. It almost looks related to Potter. Congrats on a rare find Sal.

Sure sounds steep, however in the hard core portion of the collectors market, he may not be too far off. Considering the rarity of it.

I have been able to learn the story behind "This Old Press". It is interesting but more details remain and a lot of questions that will come in time.
I can say it is an aluminum frame, 50+ years old and gear powered by turning a crank. The shellholders are thread on like the Echo/Herter's. They may fit, I don't know yet.
It is unique and its history opens a lot of background to some other orphan presses I have.
Currently we are negotiating a price.
Ken
I like you guys, I feel at home here! This is an interesting press and I would
like to see where it ends up and for how much!
Looking for Ideal mold 419181 (44 Evans Long)
"Joined Dates" are deceiving if you factor-in "lurk" dates.
Lubedude, how far are you from Denver City Texas? That is where this press originally came from. The sellers grandfather ran a gun shop there 50 some years ago. I don't know the name of the shop, yet. Just looking for more background.
Ken
Looks like a turret press that might have auto-indexing (just like current Lee turrets), but NOT a progressive press.
Too bad you can't add another four die stations...
May be of value to collectors, but $1000?????
Pressmen, it's on the other side of the State, near the Southern New Mexico border. About a 7-8 hr drive, it scares 500 miles to death.
Thanks for thinking of me, I sure would like to see that press.

My first thought was some kind of old Herter's experiment. But there are probably people out there who have scoured all of the old Herter's catalogs for something like this.
Interesting press for a variety of reasons. Anyone know where it was made? Amazing that Pressman was able to quickly dig up some info. on this. I've been trying for ages to find something about an old Fowler automatic progressive but have had little success.
From the picture i posted from Ebay. They is some writing @ the base But I was unable to Read them. The Only Thing i was able to get was H&S POWRGEAR.
Very Interesting machine . But no info on It anywhere

I was not surprised That the press got the full asking price. . I emailed the seller trying to Feel him out and put in a good Bid but was declined. It was very interesting and needed more research.
I am hoping One of Our member Purchased it
