    Playing Around

Just to see what would happen I stuffed a 270 case in a 250 savage die and ended up with this. This was done on my dads Herters turret press by turning the die down just a bit at a time right at the cam over point. I was surprised I got the shoulder back so far.

.250 Savage XX Long neck? Should be able to cover just about any lube grooves on a .258" boolit.

It is amazing what a bored mind and a few extra sets of dies can come up with.

Look up the .224 Triple Necked Terror sometime. I think it was published by Dean Grinnell, if he didn't originally make it.

One of the old magazines had a .50 BMG to hold a phonograph needle.
