    mec bushings

does anybody sell a set of bushings that fit the mec's.

does the universal charge bar work worth a dang, is it worth the 50 bucks versa's individual bushings.

getting sick of never having the right bushing for whatever the powder of the day is.

I listen to a reloading podcast. One of the panel members just bought one. If you are on Facebook "The Reloading Room" is related to that podcast. IIRC he said he checked them out before he bought his.

Having the adjustable feature is an asset when a proper size bushing isn't at hand, but I still use the bushings.
I also have several med and larger bushings with epoxy added and filled to reduce volume for unusual sizes. Just be sure to remark the size, ie the cc it holds, or the exact powder and charge weight.
BTW The MEC bushings also work in my old Texan loader.
    Information not shared. is wasted.

My charge bar was disappointing as it broke (cracked) at both ends adjustment bolts, was a second year made item. I used it this way for another year just to get my monies worth out of it then trashed it. To cut down on bushings needed, standardise on just 1 or 2 powders loads.Robert

one tip for the universal charge bar ..
It seems to be more consistent dropping charges if you go past your desired setting then slowly work back ..

I use the adjustable bar in my 410 loader to get a good crimp stack set up as smoke 4320 advised, but the 12 and 20 gage loaders get the fixed bushings . I swap around loads on the 12 and 20 a lot so I have a box full at bushings , but the 410 is set for one load .

Another for the universal charge bar. Used it for years with thousands of reloads. Worked for me.

I have a Universal charge bar and have used it with great success to come up with loads. They seem to be a pain to set but once there work fine. After I get a load I like I modify a cheap old style bar without the bushing option to throw that load. Just change bars when I need to change loads.

Yep another universal bar user for over 40 years. Same MEC 600 jr's by the way have replaced wad fingers and now use BP brass sharp crimp starters.

I tried the universal bar but it now sits on the shelf. I'm a bushing man. If you have a single stage press I've got a deal on a universal charge bar.

I have the universal in each of my 3 mec's, wouldn't go any other way. I believe I have an extra universal, one for the standard press and one for the progressive if you are interested, PM me.

Back when I had more time than $ I rigged up a Lyman 55 where the powder bottle goes on my 600 Jr. As I recall the Lyman 7/8 x 14 adapter just fit the powder bottle threads. A little slower but works.
    Take a kid along

Universal charge bar saves buying lots of bushings and works great. Very helpful when you load three different gauges.
