I needed that 45/70 about as much as hole in the head but it was too good a price to pass up. About 3 weeks ago, I got a Remington 700 ADL in .223. I paid full price for it, but it's a shooter and I'm hoping these are too.

That's some price on the Rugers. I just picked up an American Ranch in 300blk. I think I'll be trying it out with a Bushnell red dot sight on it at first.

I was hoping they would have a 7mm/08 but nope. I'm still pretty darn happy. I think the Grand kids will like em. I've heard good things about them and The people I know that have one of them love em. I've got a no name 4x12 that came on 700 for the one of them and a Nikon Buckmaster 3 x 9 for the other. I've just got to figure out which goes where.

I've been on the lookout for a 30/30 Rem 788 since they were available new. I've never seen one in Australia and all attempts to order one way back when amounted to nothing. Nice find, rare as rocking horse doo doos!

I just acquired a High Standard R106 Sentinel from GB. My FFL holder will be delivering it later today. Looking forward to some range time with some different brands of ammo for testing and fun.

Very late Pre 64 Model 70 in 270. Not really a super collector model but it is nice and the price was right.

    Beautiful Beretta Dancingbear!

I'm fond of the Browning over and unders, but that new Beretta makes mine look a bit plain. I was just in England and Scotland a few months ago and I saw plenty of pheasants and grouse there that would make fine targets and scrumptious dining.

Always wanted a S&W 41 or 46, still do. A friend has a 422, shot it & was sold. I'm not a fan of alloy frames so last month I found a 2206. Not a 41 but shoots Pretty good off hand, IMO. I bought 2 S&W spare mags but trigger stays locked with one fully inserted. S&W is sending a replacement.

Just picked up a S&W model 360J, a lovely little scandium alloy J-frame in .38spl+P

I'll have to wait till Friday to put some rounds through it. I was on the hunt for a J-frame and this one caught my eye at Academy. Only the display gun left and I got 10% off listed price for a little scratch under the forcing cone where the crane touches. The 360J seems to be a unique gun, not one that you will find in the S&W catalog. It has the serial number in a unique place compared to all other J-frames and has a place for a lanyard loop under the grips. It appears these are made in small batches and were for export to foreign military or police in some form and the overruns for what ever reason are sold to the US domestic market. There is speculation these were for Japan. Very unique & mysterious whereabouts surround the 360J which I like! Plus it's a scandium J-frame on the cheap..... Sold!

My most recent purchase was a Hammerli 280 .32wc bullseye pistol. I just mounted an Ultra-dot on it. It came with a good supply of factory ammo so I most likely won't be reloading for it until next spring. Last rifle was a Galil I bought off a friend. Have not shot it yet.
