I've bought two recently but neither one is in yet. I have a Pedersoli High Wall in .45-70 that should be here early next month and a Shiloh Sharps Sporter #1, also in .45-70, on order that will be ready this fall. Man I can't wait!

Ruger PC9. Takes Glock and Ruger SR9 mags. Seems to be a pretty solid carbine.

I bought a Ruger Hawkeye 280 Ackley Imp. in Dec. It had a bad barrel so sent it back. Got it back in March and I think it is going to be a good one. It needs some load development but with scarcity of components that may have to wait for a while.

Attachment 281944I picked up a second Marlin 39 A at a gun show last weekend. The one I have had previous I bought new in 1973 this one dates from 1960. This 1960 rifle has oil finished stock and looks great ! The original gun had the Mar shield finish which has yellowed and doesn’t let the true color of the wood show thru.
My 1974 gun will shoot 1/2” at 50 yards and has taken hundreds of squirrels and other game, I am hoping the one I picked up is just as accurate.

Walked into a LGS yesterday, kind of hidden away, bit of an open secret.

Got chatting with the owner, he heard I was an H&R single shot fan boy. He comes out with a new in box H&R in .22lr for 250$.
Talk him down 10, fill out the paperwork. Told him to keep the 9$ and change. He goes "first you jew me down 10$ in price, then give me essentially a 10$ tip, what's up?"

Just seeing what kind of a gun store owner you are. I learned what I needed to learn. And left you within penny's of your original price. He looks at my friend who brought me and said "You can bring more guys like him around any time"

Looked last night, just the barrel is selling for 450$ on evilbay. Not that I have any intention of selling it as long as it shoots.

If it doesn't shoot I might part it out and triple my money.

Leaves me with a real good feeling about the deal I made though. Ohh and it came with a nice Simmons fixed power scope.

Call me a happy camper this morning.
I truly believe we need to get back to basics.

    Get right with the Lord.
    Get back to the land.
Get back to thinking like our forefathers thought.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you
and give you His peace. Let all of the earth – all of His creation – worship and praise His name! Make His
    praise glorious!

A JC Higgins Model 103.18 single shot 22 rifle followed me home this morning. It's aMarlin Model 100 and I didn't have a Marlin, so I decided why not, this is a decent one. Or it will be after I clean it up from living in a barn for umpteen years.

I sold my '06... and regret it. But I kept the 338-06 for deer and elk; mostly elk.

I was looking at the Howa mini action rifles in 6.5 Grendel for close in deer, but ZERO ammo, reloading dies, etc.... Why would I buy a rifle I can't shoot?

So, I decided to stick with 30 caliber and grabbed a 6# .308 Winchester Ruger American compact with the 18" barrel. Got a 2-7x33 scope coming for it. Already have dies and a bunch of bullets. Need to order a 311041 mold for it; got gaschecks, too.

    Something new to play with.

I have this exact rifle (carbine?). It is a match for my Ruger American Compact in 223.
I am undecided as to what scope to mount to it. My Leupold 1.5 - 5 (or 4?) VariX111 is looking good at this stage. Although I do have a VariX11 in 2-7 kicking about as well. Decisions, decisions.
