At a local gunshow a couple of weeks ago found my #1 item on my want list, an 1895 Winchester in 30USArmy nice condition and I could afford it. Also found another P-17 sportered in 30-06 cheap.

Kimber K6 Target. Got a 160 gr. 358432 from a poster here last week and have some bullets cast. Oxblood died pancake holster from Simply Rugged came in as well.

A Marlin 27S from 1911 or 1912 beckoned, "BUY ME!!!" and I could not say "no". The furniture is like new, considering it to be an over one century old firearm. The barrel does look "shot", but not (I hope!) shot out. While I have dies, a mould, and gas checks -- I today received some brass from another member on this site; need to size/lub some Lyman 257420 cast bullets.... and hopefully load/shoot a few.

I just picked up a Smith & Wesson mod 519. Used police trade in from Guns.com. I'm not a big 9mm guy, but I thought the price was right considering the current market. Less than a lot of plastic pistols are going for these days. I was very pleased when it showed up. Minimal holster wear, and looks to have been fired very little. Came with 3 15rd mags, and it has been fitted with Trijicon night sights. That was a nice unexpected bonus. I have a Desantis holster, a mag pouch, and a case of Tula 115 gr. on order.

Another hip pocket gun; a S&W Shield9 2.0 with thumb safety because I like them.

My most recent firearm purchase was a National ordinance 1903a3 in 30.06 ,I shot it a few times but after reading warnings online about potential kaboom I think it's just gonna be mostly for looks for now on.

Savage 110 in .243. Intent is a winter project for the local varmint match.

Bought it for the action, it was cheeep because the stock had been cut down to a 10" length of pull. It's a shame because this is an older walnut stocked rifle and the stock is a decent looking piece of wood.

Or at least what is left of the stock.

Now to choose a stock. Real walnut? Laminate? No, it won't be plastic. Style?

Then caliber. Stick with .243? I've got all the fixin's for .243. That's the no brainer, except for length, twist, contour, material and barrel maker. Well almost no brainer.

Or change to a more appropriate accuracy caliber. Not like there's only 2 or 3 choices there. Odds are it will only be single loaded at the bench so feeding isn't a problem.

And if I want an exotic/accuracy caliber the Remington 700 in .243 that's a smooth bore for the first couple of inches is a potential candidate. That one already has a nice stable laminated stock and a Jewel trigger.

Buying an old gun isn't supposed to be this complicated.

Found it today - A model 3200 trap gun, made in 1982 (next to last year of production - essentially new in box - no evidence of having been fired. Arguing over the price as we speak. Probably lose the price argument but am going to buy it anyway.

Husqvarna 1640 in 6.5 X 55 Swede. Missed one a few years ago when they were less than $500....you know, "you snooze you lose." Two popped up on Simpson's and I didn't snooze this time, I bought the better of the two...and it wasn't less than $500.....

A couple of rollers, a sported French Lebel and a Carl Gustaf missing a part or two.
