Just picked up a Marlin Model 97 .22LR. This is the 4th vintage .22 in the last 5 months. Always liked single shots and when we went shooting a few weeks ago I offered to let her shoot them and she replied with "that's too much work". So I bought this 97 so she could shoot a nice mag tube fed lever action.

Just bought a Navy Arms 58 caliber Buffalo Hunter from the LGS. It was on consignment for a couple of months and I managed to talk them out of it for $100.00!

Just acquired a couple of single shot "schuetzen" type bench resters:
    1. BSA martini model 12/15 (originally .22rf) that was re-barreled and converted to centerfire in .357 Mag with a vintage Weaver K2.5 60-B.
    2. Miller Dakota Arms 32 RKS breech seater with Bausch & Lomb 6x24/steel target sights.
** (side note would be interested purchase of "Hoch" bullet mold for #2 - Sadly the original was lost amidst other estate items - Ideally a 200gr 32 cal with smaller driving bands than base - feel free to PM me if you might have a suitable one you'd let go)...

PSA had a sale on the Smith 627 8shot 357 for almost 500 less than I've seen them locally. Had to say yes.

Sigh.... I remember when we could still by handguns period!! Never mind on sale, lol

I did however manage to close on a deal for a C.O.R.E. 5" slide with barrel to use on the ol' M&P 1.0 here just today in case I ever want to make the move to Production Optics for IPSC, Yes I know not a full gun - but as close as we can get on the handgun side of things north of the border these days.

Just got a Colt police positive 32. Serial number says it was built in 1907. I would estimate around 95% condition. Doesn't look like it was shot or carried much.

Bought a GSG 16 22LR to use to compete in steel competitions up here. Two weeks later Trudeau banned the gun. In his universe the gun represents an assault rifle....bad. Oh well he is about to resign and the Conservatives will reverse this nonsense.

Merry Christmas everybody and all the best in the New Year

Latest, a used Astra .38 Special revolver. High quality, no longer made, prices going up!

In my sales and gunsmithing days I had a Hispanic customer who was a MSgt. in the Air Force. He was close to retirement and intended to move to a location south of Mexico City where his father-in-law was the Chief of a local law enforcement agency, which he described as being similar to an Old West posse. He wanted a high quality .357 revolver, but favored a Spanish-made pistol as he said it was easier to get them repaired in that location than U.S. firearms. I don't know if it's still that way or not, as this was about 40 years ago. He ordered an Astra .357 with a 6" barrel. When it came in I examined it and found it to be a very well made revolver of high quality, but he shortly returned it for a free wheeling cylinder. I took it apart and found that the bolt spring was just kept in place inside the frame by its own tension, unlike a Smith & Wesson which has a screw for that purpose just above the front of the trigger guard. I put the spring back where it belonged and returned it to the owner, who brought it in a second time with the same problem. I drilled and tapped a hole for a retaining screw in the same location as an S&W and slid the spring over the screw's shaft inside the frame, which fixed the problem. On later production Astra added the screw to their design, and this specimen has one. If you see one in good condition for a good price, grab it!

Rock Island 1911A1 in 10mm. I never thought I’d have a 10 as I’m a 41 magnum guy, but it was on sale.

Picked up a Pietta 1873 in 357 mag and a Uberti Stallion 1873 in 22lr today. I thot I did ok for 500 out the door. Shot the 22lr at the range immediately. At 20 feet you could cover the group with a quarter using Winchester bulk. It's a solid heavy 6 shooter scaled at 75% with a full size grip. I like.

I celebrated the election results by getting another AR15 upper.
This one is a Bushmaster 16” Pencil barrel - that when combined with the Zytel K&E lower and a 4x scope results in a 6-1/2 lb carbine( unloaded weight).

I've been looking for a long time for a Rogers and Spencer and I finally found one for sale. It cost me a pretty penny but I am now it's proud owner. In like new condition, it didn't look to have ever been fired, but when I swabbed the cylinders two of them had a couple individual grains of black powder in them. The barrel bore looked like glass. I also came across a new spare cylinder for it on the "bay" for 70. Then yesterday, I came across a new, unfired, 1851 Navy arms, London, model for "much" less than a new one, wow, it's been some week, and my gun funds are depleted for a few weeks! Wes
