    KAR 88 Value question

Looked at a KAR 88 Carbine today. Refinished stock,no bubba work done to it. "S" stamp on the barrel. Bore looked good. Asking price is 475.00.
Was pressed for time, didnt check to se if all numbers matched
    Is this a good price?

Sorry, I have no idea on the price, but I'm curious what the barrel diameter slugs out to.

Butter knife bolt handle? Probably in the ball park on the price. Maybe just a bit high...I'd offer $425 and they might settle out at $450. I haven't seen one of the carbines for sale for several years. They are of a handy length for hunting, so folks tend to hang onto them.

hen's teeth. whatever you are willing to pay. I have one that was commercially sportered, retaining the barrel jacket, sometime in the 20's. paid about $60 for it a decade ago at auction.

They are more valuable today and run $300 - 500. They should all have .321 groove diameter x .311 bore barrels. I'd offer $400 if it's in very good condition and settle for $425.
