.40 cal Gas Check bullet source

    Howdy, Pards,
Does anyone know of a good source for commercially cast gas check bullets for .40 caliber (.409 - .410" dia.), in the 350-400 grain weight range? They should be fairly hard and suitable for smokeless powder loads. I'd like to run them in the 1450-1550 ft/sec range.

Also, does anyone have some good loads for .40-65 WCF using smokeless and such bullets as above?

    Much obliged, in advance!

    Your obedient servant,
    Trailrider

A moderately-hard to hard cast plainbase bullet can easily be used in that velocity range with no problem. My .40-65 shooting is done at lower velocity with 400 gr bullets but I fire lots of 20-1 and 25-1 plainbase bullets from .32-40 at 1400-1500 fps with no problems.
