    .405 wcf

Picked up a stalking rifle in .405 WCF. Just because I want to try paper patching for the time being I am going to use a commercial 315 grain cast boolit. Also, because I have a lot of it I am going to use IMR 4166. Of course, the only load I seem to be able to find is for a 300 grain J word. Starting load 45.2 grains up to 54.7 grains.

I was going to use the starting load with the cast boolit and work from there.

    Comments, suggestions???

    Thanks,
    Dave

    That's where I'd start.

As an aside, just this pat week I saw and handled a Model 70 Winchester in 405 Win- the owner said that there were only three ever made.
(He also showed me a Model 54 in 32-20!)
