    "Copperized" bullets?

Cleaning out an attic I found a red cardboard box of National Bullet Company "Copperized" cast lead bullets, 158gr .38 caliber SWC. They appear to have a thin coating of copper and a hard red lube. Don't know how old they are but the copper has not turned green.
Has anyone else tried them or heard of them?
