I must really be cheap. I just use peanut butter jars. Priced right, easy to get, sturdy and airtight.
Pretty neat! I use various containers now for a variety of items.
"Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face!" - Mike Tyson
"Don't let my fears become yours." - Me, talking to my children
That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.
I have successfully used pencil boxes such as used by school kids for storing sized and lubed pistol bullets and get two layers separated by a cardboard sheet into a box. Snaps closed. Does not work for rifle bullets...maybe one layer, but depends on length of bullet. The boxes are of various colors and are inexpensive/ LLS
For smaller containers of finished boolits (less common sizes), I get really cheap: outlet boxes... They're not clear, so I have to mark the outside, but at $.26 each, I can't say "No"... and they come with their own mounting hardware!!! (tho I normally remove those, so they sit side-by-side or stack easily...)

Odd lot stores or dollar general 6QT Sterilite Containers snap on lids hold a lot of lose ammo.
* Styrofoam bullet trays with boxes from prior bullet purchases
* Various caliber size spent ammo plastic trays & boxes at club in trash cans
* Crystal Lite plastic containers with snap on lids
* Peanut butter & Vita herring plastic containers with screw on lids
