This doe was taken at 145 yards using my T/C Omega with 105 gr of blackhorn 209 under a Ranch Dog 255 gr cup point 44 mag boolit in a sabot.

The doe dropped in her tracks as I mis-guesstimated the drop and hit a bit high catching the bottom of the spine. I did break the off shoulder and recovered the expanded boolit just under the hide.

The alloy was 1 in 20 mix with some copper in the mix but I haven't crunched the numbers to find out how much. The retained weight is 181 gr.

Bravo for your first and hopefully not last cast harvest. Tasty treats and good dinners. Boolit looks good.
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.

Congrats! Are you hunting in Indiana? I'm trying to understand the seasons there. With the "reduction zones" and the licensing and what equipment you are allowed to use.

Nope, not any more. I have moved over to the same side of the Ohio as you for now. I'm living in so Louisville.

I feel the same about KY ( at least Louisville) as you do about IN. Heck what good is it to let y'all use rifles if they Don't let ya hunt on public land (at least with said rifles). Strange

When I left IN they didn't have any reduction zones yet so I can't help ya there but I'll try to explain it as simply as I can. If you are deer hunting with a non-resident license and you come from a state that requires both a hunting license and deer tag the deer hunt ( like KY) you must purchase both NR IN hunting license and deer tag, otherwise you only need a deer tag. It's one deer per tag per season. (I.E. you must have a separate tag for each season, bow, modern firearm, and muzzle loader all requires there own tag) I always used a muzzle loader myself, but you can also use handgun, shotgun, or a fifle with a min. Bullet dia of .35 cal a max case length of 1.9.
