Question on Hollywood Super Turret.....

I'm sure, most of you know that there is a Super Turret up for auction.

I reread my Reloading Tool Journal #15, and it states that it is believed that only 100 were produced.

My question is, if there are only 100 of these made, why is the number "387" stamped on the base.

Would this have been done at the factory, or by someone else? ( just trying to learn, pretty new on Hollywood products )

It was done at the factory. The other presses were made in batches of 100, and I have a H-2 with the serial number 086 stamped underneath the frame. Haven't looked at the rest of them for a number.

Am guessing if the number is "387", then 400 or more were really made. That "100 only" is rumor.

I spoke to someone who believed that the Super Turret numbering began at 300 based on conversations at the store.

We've not seen any Super Turrets with numbers on their sides that aren't within the 300 range so far. There are at least two without numbers that seem to have been assembled but not marked.

I was just discussing this not twenty minutes ago with another Super Turret owner.

The 100 Super Turret "rumor" is more substantive than the 100 only model A' s produced that was spread on this forum way back when.

I have the original letter from the president of Hollywood Tools stating that only 100 Super Turrets were made.
