SWMBO had to visit the endoscopy department at Covenant in Lubbock this morning. In the waiting room I fired up the iPad to get on Castboolits but NOOOOO! Blocked as a weapons site. Just to test I tried to go to the Ponsness Warren reloaders.com site. It was also blocked as a weapons site even though they don't have as much as a pocket knife on their site- only presses and parts. Hope I never have to go to that facility again. That level of anti-gun is ridiculous. Blocking courtesy of McAfee SecurityCenter. SWMBO has been in 4 hospitals and several doctors' offices in the past 12 months, mostly due to an orthopedic issue and this is the only one that has blocked our website.

Unfortunately, it is pretty common. Lots of public wifi spots block "bad" websites for your benefit. I was at an airport USO a couple weeks back and their wifi had this site blocked.

Try using Onion browser. It usually gets around stuff like site blocking, and will work on an iPad.

It's out there for free or maybe 99 cents...depends on where you find it. Any search engine should bring up information about it and download sites.

Your post is contradicting itself. Your saying we should outlaw something (an idea), but at the same time your saying we should be a free country. Furthermore, in a free country, businesses should be allowed to do what they like on their own property, such as banning things they don't like. Freedom is NOT just allowing the stuff we agree with, it's allowing the stuff we disagree with too. Anything less is a form of tyranny no matter how you try to justify it. You can't have it both ways and still call it freedom. That's something both parties don't seem to get.

Now, we should exercise OUR freedom and put pressure on businesses like hospitals to allow sites such as this on their wifi.

Political correctness is not an idea, as you call it. Political correctness is a force used by many to get anyone who disagrees to set down and shut up.
Political correctness can cause you to loose your job, loose your wealth, and in some cases land you in jail for what you think or say. It's not an idea as you seem to think.

In my sentence, "Free country!" Maybe I should have put a question mark along with the exclamation point also for greater clarification. Then I added the qualifier to the meaning by adding "You can forget that thought." I hope this makes what I said clear to you.

in the past when i had to go to a dentist appointment or eye check up, i would take old gun magazines like shooting times, or american rifleman, or guns and ammo and discretely place them with the other magazines in the waiting room. with all identifying information remove obviously.

Heck, I've always taken out my own stitches. Also did the stitching at times.

Different place but I had a choice. Drive two hours to the hospital that did the stitches to have them taken out for free. Or pay a local office to remove them. Apparently even though I have health insurance they wouldn't accept it because they didn't put the stitches in. I paid up since it was only $15 more than my copay. But this still bothers me to no end.

Same w/ the hospital billing. Total bill was something like $800. I paid my copay and thought everything was fine. Received a letter from my health insurance saying that since the hospital was out of network they paid them $120, said it's what the service was worth, and I would be responsible for the rest if they billed me. Glad I have insurance

WiFi is not public. It's private and the owners can block whatever sites they want. Did you try going to YouTube or Facebook? A lot of places block them due to bandwidth use. I know it sucks when sites are blocked. Either bring your phone and use it as a wifi hotspot. Pay for a VPN service. Or use a browser like Onion. Your phone is the best move if you have service.

Political correctness is an idea, and idea being force upon us, but an idea none the less. Let me use Socialism as an example. That is also an idea. It's also worked it's way into our country. The government forces you to give into it by sticking a gun to your head. They disguise it as taxes and mandatory government programs. If you comply, then your safe. If you don't, they take away your freedom. If your resist, they kill you. That doesn't mean it's not still just an idea. It's an idea that bad people have taken upon themselves to force you to comply with. The same goes for political correctness.

In your post, you talk about how political correctness should be illegal. Your talking about outlawing an idea, a belief, something you cannot just outlaw and make go away. Also, the act of doing so is in and of itself a restriction on freedom. You cannot outlaw an idea and still call it freedom. Your doing exactly what they are doing, suppressing their beliefs and thoughts. No matter how wrong they may be, they have a right to them just as you have a right to tell them their wrong.

In your sentence "free country? you can forget about that thought!" (and yes, that's exactly how I read it), your basically saying that political correctness is ruining this country. That sentence put together with your first one about outlawing political correctness leads one to come to the rational conclusion that you think America would be more free if political correctness was illegal. That is where the contradiction come in. As I said before, you cannot ban any idea (no matter how wrong it is), and still call it freedom. With freedom, you have to take the good with the bad. Anything less is not freedom, but tyranny. Don't try to ban people's beliefs, change their minds.

Base on what you wrote and your explanation for it, I feel I understood your original post perfectly well. Are your sure you didn't misinterpret mine?
