What's your favorite gun to cast boolits for.

I'm still a bit of newbie, I have cast about 4000 boolits but all the same mold, a 200 swc h&g 68 style. I'm curious what your favorite gun is to cast for. All mine have been target boolits for NRA bullseye through my les Baer concept 3.

My favorite handgun to cast for, if I only had to choose only one it is my S&W 25-2 in 45 Colt. A close second is my other 25-2 in 45ACP. I prefer to cast for revolvers as they will digest nearly any shape or nose. With semi's one has to pay attention to feeding issues and over-all length.

Finn model 27 made in 1935, swapped a cherry #4MKI* for it. Guy told me it did pierce primers, so used a screwdriver to back the firing pin towards the cocking piece. Only paid $125 for the enfield so I think I did good. Rifle was in excellent shape with a beautiful shiny bore. Frank

My 38 Special M-14 is my favorite to cast boolits for, though I have several others who have had more play of late.

Casting most for my 14-4 Target Masterpiece but my favorite is my Blackhawk 45 Colt.

I've been thinking about this question for the last half hour, and have concluded that I don't have a favorite gun.
All of my guns are useful. All my guns serve a purpose. A few have multiple applications and can be used very effectively in different situations.
But, what is exactly a "favorite gun." Is it the one you use the most or the one you have a special attachment to? Is it the gun that brings back memories of a good hunt or an exceptional shot or owned by someone special? I don't know. All I know is, all of my guns are useful.

I can remember a time when I wouldn't dare put a lead bullet through a couple of my guns, now I wouldn't dare put a jacketed bullet through my guns. Funny how things change.
I've got a box of 500 smk's and was wondering just the other day what I was going to shoot them in, to busy shooting lead to shoot them.

Almost all my molds are Accurate Molds, so my answer is, all of these!

Hmmmm....favorite? It's hard to say. I cast a lot of calibers, and perhaps a better question would be which one is my favorite to shoot? Casting is fun, but I do it to shoot!

That said, I don't think I could answer my own question, either

All of them, but I have 2 which have rewarded me for my patience.

Lee .430 310 gr gas checked and
Lee .358 158 gr round nose, tumble lubed.

The .430 gave me my first true cloverleaf while sighting in the scope.

The .358 gave me this.


3 shots went through that hole at 50 yards. The black stick on bulls-eye is 2" for scale.
Was about 5 grains of Red Dot under those bullets.

Targets like that will really make you appreciate some molds.

My "Pre 37"

I like the Lee 175gr TC for the 40 S&W used Glocks (22 and 35). I can make a ton of them fast and they just drop from the mold. Plus they are easy to handle in the lubesizer.

I Lee 200SWC is a close second as it is very accurate in my Glock21SF.

The Lee 120Gr TC for 9mm is pretty good also as I can make a ton of them fast and not use so much lead. Great for my Glock19 and my conversion barrels in the Glock 22 and 35.
