I'm 31 started casting minie balls for the .54 caliber CVA muzzleloader my dad got me for my 12th birthday, I still have it. I started casting bullets for .38 special in 2014 when I was 24 and my mold collection has vastly increased since then.

I am 64 and started casting for a Colt Trooper in 1980 so thats about 41 years. I had some real challenges doing so because no one that I was familiar with even knew what it meant to cast bullets. So I read all I could, slugged the barrel of he Colt, which had a really tight bore of .354 finally found a 125 grain 9mm bullet that caused that gun to shoot really accurate and lowered the pressure levels, I'll never forget that first experience. I have years of enjoyment and some frustration commiting myself to get rifles to shoot with cast bullets. Lord willing I'm retiring in a few years and look forward to burning up that melting pot!

Almost 70. Started casting roundball for muzzleloaders about 20 years ago but recently started casting for .45acp. & .38/.357 because of shortage of cheap bullets. But I’ve been thru Clinton,Obama & hope to make it through this present fool still shooting.

I started at 28 or 29, ill be 37 in a couple of weeks. Thought I'd only ever cast for 9mm. Only wanted to reload and cast to beat my boss at the range. He had the money to practice whenever and with whatever amount he needed from buying ammo. I couldn't afford all the factory id need to get better. Now I cast for 6 different calibers and hunt with my boolits. I went deep.

I was introduced to casting round balls (for muzzleloader) back in 1967.
Still casting for rifle and pistol and buckshot, at age 68.
Just getting the hang of it, no plans to stop.

Note- when we moved here 3 years ago, I sold off my excess lead stash-- I was amazed when it was weighed at 5100 pounds- I try to maintain an inventory of about 500 pounds today- it hurts to move it!

60 going on 19 I still do some of the stupidist stuff my wife has ever seen or heard, and have the marks to prove, last trip to doc he remarked I had more trips to x-ray dept in one year than the x-ray tech that worked there. When I get to the pearly gate, I'll be the guy with a bunch of parts in a box wanting to know about a redo, not the guy with a pristine taken care of body, wanting to know about a reward.

So I officially started casting at the beginning of this year. About a month after my 38th birthday. I had been collecting lead and other supplies for casting for several years. Originally my plan was to cast mainly for 45lc an 30 carbine but I now have molds for almost every caliber I shoot. Still looking for a Lyman 311359 mold and a 00 buck mold. Hopefully I'll spend the next 30 years or more honing this amazing skill.

Just started casting 2 weeks ago, late in the game of reloading for me. I'm 37.
