Added Two More Blackhawks to the Herd

I met up with an old friend yesterday and came home with an as new, unfired 3 screw Blackhawk in .357 Magnum, including one of the original Bianchi flap holsters made to carry the 3 screw safely, for $350.00. It even included the paperwork for the holster and the warning page that Ruger put in all the gun magazines in 1973, warning of the danger of carrying a round under the hammer in SAA type revolvers.

I also ended up with an early New Model Blackhawk in .41 Magnum, that probably had less than a box of ammunition through it. It included the old red box, the shipping box, paperwork and waxed storage paper. He also included the partial box of .41 Magnum ammunition that was left from it's only outing. This one cost me $335.00.

Both pistols have 6.5" barrels, and will fit nicely into my collection.

Nope, not gloating at all. Just proud to have good friends who appreciate all we've done for each other over the years and aren't ashamed to say so.

I may part with the holster, and if I can figure out again how to post pictures, I'll get them into this thread.

Congratulations, i've always been a fan of the blackhawk. I've never messed with any old models however. But i've had a couple early production new models.

I was gonna say it didn't happen without pics but you beat me to it.

You did good on that. Also a good friend to offer it to you also.I have 2 blackhawks, a 357 and a 327. The 357 I got it years ago from someone that was in the hospital with my dad at the time and he wanted to see it and another gun to me and I got both guns the only thing that was wrong with the 357 was that the rear sight plate was missing. The 327 is when they came out it was new at the time.

You are a lucky shooter. I let a three-screw pass many years ago and have regretted it ever since. It had the action worked and was smooth as silk.

My 3 screw 1969 cost $500, had a cleaning brush stick in the cylinder, and a bent cylinder lock.
and I still think I got a good deal

    My 3 screw cost me a whopping 150 bucks . . .

    And looks like it!

Please tell me you are gonna break those two in and launch pounds and pounds of lead over time.
