    Barska 25-125X88 Spotting Scope

Hi again. Does anyone have one of these spotting scope and if you do what's you opinion of it when trying to see targets as far as 500yds? I'll be using Birchwood Casey Shoot-N-C Target which when hit show up yellow around the hole. Also I'll be shooting a 45-70 with .459 500gr cast bullets.

My general opinion of Barska is that they make a C or D grade product.

With that said, I've never owned that specific model of spotting scope that you are making reference to so I really can't say.

I predict you will NOT be able to see your holes at that range!

I have a friend with these

And it won't reliably pick up 30 caliber holes at 300.

    I own one.
Only thing odd is that you must twist focus at the front, similar to an old SLR camera.
Must also be used on a tripod or stand. It is very seceptable to vibrations at the top magnification.
I don't know about 500 yard targets, but very good at 300.
I wish the focus was at the back of the scope, as having only one hand, it makes it tough to focus and hols the thing steady.
I was able to see the Blood Moon last fall, from my back porch with no problems.
Hope this helps you out, my friend!
