Don't know how I missed this thread, but I don't slow down here much.

That said, I have plenty of 41 experience, but at the moment I have to many irons in the fire to get out notes and such.

I will say this, I have done quite a bit of playing with the newer MP 640 molds. I have had the Lite version with 296 up to just over 1600fps and the heavy 220gr version rocking along at a comfortable 1300+ from my 7.5" Redhawk.

Hope to get back ASAP and post up pics and results.
    Later,
    Mike / TX

It only hurts when I think (41 S&W die set)

Well, I picked up a near complete 310 tool die set, not sure if the #16 die adapter can be found, but the 310 Shop will be providing one... Not an issue.

It may not be as purty as the previous set in this thread, but it is more than useable. Now I can cast up a bunch of boolits, GC and lub them, then reload at the range or wherever...

Reed1911 a where do I go to get included on the order. I did not see it under group buys?

My Super 41, as I call it. Just sent the cylinder off to get reamed as they were measuring .407/.408. Anyone else have to have their cylinders reamed?

I am thinking you may have to place an order with Starline, when they get enough to do a run then they will tool up and do a run.

Nice Three Screw...I had NM with a SBH gripframe but sold it a few years ago...

I have never heard of anyone every having to do anything to a .41 Magnum as far as having the throats reamed...they are usually very consistent gun to gun and manufacturer to manufacturer...

Custombrassandbullets has Starline brass in stock for $11.24/50 right now. Just thought I'd give my .41 brothers a headsup. Also thought I'd share a load I've been shooting for many years. For a 220 gr lead bullet 8gr of Green Dot, and for the copper coated version from Extreme Bullets I like 8.2gr of Green Dot. Nice moderate load and very accurate in my M57 6".

I see Brownells also has Starline brass in stock as well, it's a little higher priced but not too bad.

Went with a .41 Remington Magnum because it's different and wasn't a big fan of the .44 Magnum. When I go to the range people will look and say nice .44 until I correct them and then they ask me if it is a new cartridge. Let's just say that I hand out A LOT of history lessons on the range. Anyway, as for full wad cutters in the .41 Mag/ Special, I use Accurate Molds 410190W: http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=41-190W-D.png. Works pretty darned good. I also use Accurate Molds 410250A, which i had sent off to Erik Ohler for hollowpointing and it drops around 240 gr: http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=41-250A-D.png. For a semi-wadcutter as a solid, I went with the standard Lyman 410610 and had the gascheck removed. I use the CheckMaker by Pat Marlin for all of my cast boolits, regardless of caliber and all my boolits are plain base.

    Both of my .41 Mags, S&W 57 4", and a Ruger SBHBH 7.5":

Man that 4" M57 makes me drool, I'm dying to add one to compliment my 6". Those boolits look sweet too.

    I emailed Starline brass asking about 41 special brass and got this reply;
    Ronald,

We are still so far behind on revolver caliber cases that we haven’t been able to get to the .41 SPL again. Hopefully sometime though!

    maybe some day,

...it would be nice if they listed the .41 Special so people could put it on backorder...then at least they could see if a run was worth making....

So true! This was the reply I got in 2013 when I asked how many.
    Ronald
We will need about 40,000 more cases on order before we can run these again.

    Thank You’
