Ya Chris it is and it shoots good.
I put my initials on the lock so it would be tough for the Kids to sell when I'm gone. They also match my Daughters initials.
My Daughter is a shooter. Heck she even drug her husband to shoot the Quigley with me on heir honey moon. I had this rifle build more or less with her in mind. Something balanced for her to shoot off hand and a standard chamber .45-70 chamber with a 5 degree/1.5 degree tapered lead so if need be she can load it with groove diameter greasers.
She shoots so well so I gave it to her.

Kurt, I absolutely love the lock plate on your rifle. The simple engraving design is perfect.

I would like to meet your daughter someday. I bet she is a hoot, and has some pretty good stories to tell about ol' Dad.

    Bring her to Lodi sometime!

Her work schedule is pretty tight. She is in Radiology and a 5 and 8 year old keeps her to busy for a long weekend match.

Well, this isn't a singleshot, but only a single shot was fired - just this morning's work.

Here she is holding my .40-2.5 Shiloh she used at the Q. It was a little breezy for the little .40 that year

    Huvius,
Nice looking 1881. Is that a separate cocking lever on the left side? What caliber?

That is a nice rifle. Does that block have any caming action for a tight fitting bullet in the lead?

    It is a 500/450 No.2
The left side lever goes to half cock when the block is lowered and then must be brought back to full cock to fire.
I would think this would be helpful to chamber the round while up and then bring the rifle to full cock once in position, especially if shooting from Back position.
I actually prefer this arrangement to the trigger safety often fit to Westley Richards 1881 and 1897 rifles but the top tang safety would be preferable on a sporter.

pedersoli '74 sharps silhouette, .40-65win, 30" heavy barrel, swapped the barrel sights for lee shaver hadley/soule tang and spirit level front globe. a simple, no frills s/s rifle. rcbs 40-400 bps mould did its good thing, too.

A couple Alex Henrys I was able to pick up at the Colorado Collector Show.

    A 450/400 2-3/8 BPE

And a 450/400 3-1/4" BPE takedown. A very unusual example of an early takedown.

OK, this is almost embarrassing, considering the amazing, beautiful rifles pictured here. This is my ordinary, relatively cheap Pedersoli Sharps that I bought used off Gunbroker for $850. It wears an even cheaper tang sight, but I sure do enjoy shooting this gun and it certainly shoots well when I do my part. Standard 32” barrel, .45-70.

Thanks, rfd. I do like that rifle. It's not my most expensive, but it ranks high among my favorites.
