    Post Hornady #32005 165gr FTX .321 for the 32-40

Just dropped hammer on a box of .321 165gr FTX bullets for the old retrobate. Gives him something to do while waiting for the temps to come up enough to cast outside.

Waiting to cast with my new RCBS 32-170-FN. I've cast in high winds @ 50 degrees, and it really cools things down. Consider casting at 0 degrees with a 15mph wind... No desire to cast in our front porch.

Exclamation Where is the 32-40 FTX data?

Bullets arrived today. Great! Looked in my #9 Hornady Reloading guide, and the closest is the 32 Special.

    ???

Sent a note to Hornady asking about 32-40 data. Hodgdon only has lead bullet data.

    Rounds downrange

Old retrobate went out in the somewhat high winds today and the 165gr FTX sorta grouped. Looks like a uniform spread, he will increase the load for the next try. Looks like slight tipping.

I did get a reply back from Hornady concerning the #32005 in the 32-40, and the reply was no information available. Sweet.

Too nasty to chronograph it, since the high wind makes the diffusers into sails. Plus the uneven snow is a disincentive as well. Though my Manfrotto tripod has a pistol-grip ball joint, so it's pretty easy to level it....

Ohland, appreciate this is a thread resurrection, but wondered if you had any further success with this bullet, and perhaps if you had kept load details you wouldnt mind sharing? Many thanks
