    Ruger American

I recently bought a Ruger American in 22lr. I got the 18"bbl put a 3x9x40 Bushnell on it. Shoots amazing, probably one of the best 22's I have ever shot or owned. I actually sold my Savage 17hmr to buy it.

I purchased Ruger American .22 this summer. Like you, I chose the 18" barrel. I had a Bushnell .22 scope that had been sitting in a drawer for awhile; one of my sons game it to me.

It is remarkably accurate. I had a box of miscellaneous .22 ammo. And even with that, it game me a 1 1/2" group at 50 yards with 12-14 rounds. The trigger is excellent. It has nice balance and weight for a .22. Feels like a regular center fire in the hand. I like it a lot.

So far my 22" RAR in LR has shot everything I've put in it very well. I've mounted an old Tasco World Class 4X scope on it and have it sighed in with Winchester bulk hollow points. It's too cold up here to do some real testing but I have been shooting squirrels off the bird feeders. My tally is 29 tree rats with no misses...so far. I like this rifle.

Mine is very accurate too! a 22" barrel, Weaver CKT15 (15X) scope.

I didn't like the scope almost up against the ring, so i changed bases to something w/ more slots.

Cherry picked, 5-shot, 50 yard group

    Average, 50 yard groups

Very nice! I was looking for an accurate mid priced .22 rifle awhile back. I got lucky and fell into a Kimber Hunter.

    What ammo are you using?

I bought 2 of these and cut them because I wanted the ring centered on the rear scope tube, and scope further back. One base is really all you need. The fit is perfect.

    This unit is also available.

I think it was Wolf Match Extra
