Sorting 556 reaming and pushing primers. Tested my first batch ever for rifle yesterday and all went bang and cycled ar15 A1 1:9. Had my doubts because not all would fit the chamber checker perfectly. Groups ok but looking for better. Starting load fmj bt 55gr 23gr h335 2665’/sec. 16 rounds.

Try some commercial sp or hp bullets for an accuracy improvement over fmjbt bullets.
    Sometimes a big improvement.
Based on experience with lots of different .223 rifles since 1972.
H335 is a good powder for full strength loads.

ID:	310852Finished up 100 .45 Schofield loads for my .45colt Marlin Trapper. They had to have the rims cut down from .520 to .512 to work in my rifle. Used my mini mill as a machine lathe. Worked. My other .45colt Marlin CL chambers them fine. The Trapper has a Microgroove barrel while the other a Ballard barrel which is more generous in the chamber rim cut.

    Wet tumbled the brass.

Dried the wet tumbled brass in the toaster.

Sorted a bunch of mixed wet tumbled brass into the different calibers.

Sized a bunch of rifle bullets about half of them got gas checks.

Resized and deprimed and belled a bunch of small rifle brass.

I normally use a Lee measure but it does not handle flake very well at all. so I keep it for stick type powders. This RCBS should handle all types.
Then I scored a lb. of unopened BL-C2 powder for $30 bucks.
I cleaned it all up and tested it with a flake powder this morning. Bang on.

I made a little 12 x15" board and bolted it to it. Glued a piece of corner molding to the edge to keep the stray bits in the tray. I verathaned it for a smooth finish
I deliberately left the one corner open to sweep the tray bits back into the jug. It didn't come with a dump tube so I found a copper 1/4' NPT nipple that fit.
You got a deal on quality stuff! Good job!

I have a Rossi Puma in 44 Magnum that has exclusively used cast bullets. I would suggest you slug the barrel as the SAAMI specs for 44 Magnum rifle barrels is larger than those for a handgun (.431" vs .429"). Mewer manufactured rifles may be smaller (.429"?).I sized my Ranch Dog 265 gr RNFP bullets to .432"-.433"...

Hacksaw cut a bunch of 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" x 1/8" angle iron. For a new mill stand. I do need to get the mill back up and running. Even though it is a small-ish model shop unit. It does great work.

The other day I polished the mouth of a few hundred .223 cases. Getting ready for Spring!

loaded some copper plated 150 grain hollow based wad cutters I got at a gun show last Saturday . They do not seem to shoot well in my old S&W target masterpiece (.38 sp) . 2.5 grains bullseye bullet flush with case should give 700 f/s , they barely dent a 55 gallon steel drum burning barrel do knock a lot of rust off!

Got in the 358 Win Die set, checked the expander, was tapered, but dimples like with walnut blast media, so did a polish with a hard white Arkansas stone to polish the taper surface, improved the 308 cartridge expansion and forming quite a bit. Prepped a half dozen cases to check the process for getting the brass ready for fire forming. I am going to build a light weight 358 Win, cast bullet rifle. To shoot 200 grain cast in.

Finished the 2nd thousand of 9mm and a 100 380acp. First time loading powder coated pistol Boolits, Lee 356-95rf for the 380. Seems easier to run them through the Star, but if the gun stays cleaner, we’ll see about keeping it up in future.

I modified a Weaver 92a scope base by saw and file to fit over and tighten to a D&T dovetail blank- to mount a Burris FF3 on my Winchester 94.

After plowing spent a few hours teaching a new reloader some tricks of the trade. I feel for his generation. 18 years old and a good kid but he had no clue what the index or a glossary was in a book. I often wonder if that is how he looks at me when he talks Iphone stuff.
