I’m loading the last of my pc Lee 200fn in the 44-40 over 10 grs Unique. Maybe I’ll cast some more this week.
We have a management deer hunt coming up- I’ll use the 44, my wife will use her .250 Savage.

Too cold to cast today, but got a couple hundred 223 cases prepped, about a hundred 7.62x39 cases prepped, and sized the same amount of Lee312-155 Boolits with gas checks

Weighed and segregated my last pour of MP 356/358-130-NLG BB. Learned if you recast the heavier boolits hoping to get lighter Boolits they come out about the same as the first time around. Powder Coated a couple of small batches. Started a run of RMR P 147 gr rn fp on my new progressive press Still getting the hang of quality control on it.

Fitted a non-ejecting extractor to the relined .25 Stevens RF 1915 Favorite. Had to adapt a "wide" '94 style .22 extractor due to the 'smith who did the liner cutting the extractor slot too wide. Also fitted a new Jack First firing pin, which should NOT have needed filing but it did. All back together, popped a couple of reloadable-rimfire caps. All this done in the dining room because it's SIX bloody degrees outside and the shop room heater can't keep up. (OK you northeners, sneer at me.....but I've lived that icy life for most of my 78 years and want no more of it.)

Lot of case prepping the past 2 days. Decapping, tumbling and inspecting about 500 9mm and a bunch of 380s

Rebuilt three Dillon Square Deal's. Then managed to find the floor in one corner. Nothing like looking back at things you just ordered not to long ago to find ones you had already ordered well not to long before that. I really need to start thinning out this room.

Loaded a box of 350 Rigby Magnums, deprimed, sized, expanded necks and primed 50 30-30's. Loaded the polisher up with 22-250 and 257 Weatherby brass so it's all spiffy in the morning.

Cast up 400 Elco Boolits today. Then lubed them and loaded them in 9mm. Need to cast about 3000 more of them. Might get started tmro. Also primed and expanded 100 7.62x39 cases.

Fitted sights to the .25 Stevens Favorite barrel. Ready to test, once I get a few rounds loaded.

Loaded up a few hundred more 9mm. Used up all of the processed brass I could find and cleaned up the bench to start on my first 223 experiments. Changed out the shell plate on the press put away the new cartridges and left over Boolits. Have 14 empty primer boxes to mark the progress.

Did some cleaning up in the reloading area. Got some magnetic tool strips from harbor freight and hung up all the small tools cluttering the desk. I like it.

Deprimed sized and wet tumbled my first 550 223 brass. One load. Tried to get them clean with just ss media and basic h. But not until the third go around with citric acid did they come out really shiny with clean pockets.

Once you get a load that works you’re gonna love loading 223. One of my favorite to load. What Boolits and powder you starting with.

Envious of all the cold-hardy "real men" on this site, I bought 1/2" aluminum rod with plans to turn from it a bullet-pusher (missing front end of mag tube spring) for an old Rem I wish to shoot, on my Unimat lathe -- to, after making my way to the lathe, looked at wall-mounted thermometer -- 40*F/4.44*C -- cussed a few times under my breath -- and came back upstairs. A tad toooo cold for me; at 74 (allmost 75) -- me thinks I may be turning into a bigger wimp than I had been... (2nd -- after the fact thought -- if I plugged in that electric heater...?...)
Spring will, they tell me, be coming...
