kevin, the way I build my target frames they are about a 20 second repair if one gets shot. They slip fit. The only parts glued are the bases. I no longer shoot combat matches (too old now at 80) but I know what you mean by frames getting shot up. There was a nationally known policeman out of Memphis(I think) back many, many years ago that had a saying that I will always remember. He said "You can't miss fast enough to win"). I found that to be true. james

PVC pipe is 3X the price it was before biden. Anyone have a Wayback machine I could borrow, bring you some primers.

Loaded up .44 Special with the balance of 245 grainers I had, about 130.

On my Classic Cast, with Ram Prime, case activated Lee autodisk, and a set of Lyman All-American dies in a black cardboard box.

It was more relaxing doing it that way for a change, instead of on the progressive.

Annealed some K hornet brass. Been getting several split necks so I annealed the whole lot of them.

Identified the problem 40 S&W cases and also reloaded about 200 40s - only 1000 more to go in this batch...

I cleaned the new to me Colt 6" 44Mag today and there were only a couple small flakes of lead in the barrel, I think it is starting to season. There are a couple micro deposits of lead from the previous owner that a brush isn't getting so I ordered some chore boy, a Lewis would be overkill. It had .429" throats over a .430 groove and slight roughness in the bore that was soldered on lead, still a couple specks left. Last week I lapped the throats to just over .431" and this is the second time to the range.

Yesterday I shot 126 rounds, 20g of 2400 under a 256g #503 for about 1350 fps and it was nice. My old 6" was a half lug 629 and the extra weight of the full lug Anaconda eliminates most of the muzzle flip, like switching from a pickup to a cadillac. For me now it's a matter of building my muscle tone back so I can hold the gun steady. Going to try to get some 1.5 inch groups again before OMS set in.

Cost of 126 44 Mag rounds $18.90 with pre jovid components.

126 rounds of solid 44 mag is a pretty big day at the range. My full tilt 44 mag rounds are a 240 @ 1450 - 100 rounds wears out my hands.

It would have been a chore with either of my 4 inch woods carry guns. I have a 6" 629 that was my regular practice gun but the topstrap is so badly gas cut, I don't shoot it. California foiled my attempt to replace it, ran my approval beyond 30 days. When I did a full court press all I could find was a vintage Anaconda. The throats were tight over a .430 bore but it's electrically machined and looks like a mirror. Trigger SA, DA Perfect! I need a new Cylinder Bolt Spring as it will skip a chamber occasionally when it gets dirty.

While I was checking out at the shooting range, I got a nice complement. The fellow who was shooting next to me said "You didn't jerk once, not even dry fire" (cylinder bolt skip) No flinch but I Do need to get that rock solid hold back, it goes quick now that I am older.

Last couple of weeks I've run 800 45 ACP and 600 45 AR . Not a huge accomplishment since they are only sized , flared , tumbled and on hold for priming.

I did get Dad's old Pacific marked Hornady red press out , cleaned up , and working.
I remembered his 45 ACP/AR dies being carbide but I guess that must have been the other 3-4 sets . These are steel so I had to lube cases . Well no I didn't , I could have gotten out the other set of Lyman All American (1972) or the RCBS carbide dies but these were Dad's tools so I didn't. I don't guess the dies have been out of their boxes in probably 30 years . I cleaned them up some.

I must have used them at some point , the size die has an RCBS decapping stem in it that is flare capable . I need to change that to one of the old 38/357 stems or just pull it all together and stick it in the expander die . The expander is a steel tipped aluminum stem ...... I thought Lee was the only one that did that .....
The seater was gross but was a flat point so there's that going for it . All revolvers and a garbage disposal PCC to feed so the FP/SWC stem is actually a good thing since I don't have any RN type moulds in 45.

There's a little more cleaning to do on the old press before it's completely right again .

Been cleaning brass and noticed a huge difference between batches. Both were wet tumbled with h2o citric acid and ss media the one on the bottom had a dribble of Shaklee Basic-H added‼️ (a organic biodegradable, surfactant, household cleaner.). Click image for larger version.

I'm running a few squirts of Dawn in RO water, no citric acid. Mom was a Shaklee distributor but it's been a while. Wonder if I still have some?

I deprimed and sized about 400 223 and 350L and have them tumbling now. 250+ 44 Mag sized and ready to tumble.

I loaded 2 more 'ladder loads' for our Browning 45-70. Trying to match the sights we have, if possible. Using the Lee 340 grain pb buĺlet. Trying Unique and 3031 powders now.

I loaded up 200 rounds of 7x57 Mauser using the rcbs 7mm-145-Sil bullet and 22.0 grains of shooters world buffalo. I haven't shot my 7x57 VZ-24 in years so it's time to take it to the range.

Yesterday I loaded my daughter some .243s with H414 and 95gr Nosler purple tips- hopefully she'll find time for a deer hunt with Dad. I also sized and primed some 30-30 for a Mauser small game load( Lee TL 314 90grswc)
Today I drove to Wisconsin straight through- so I'll finish them later!

Over the last two evenings I've sized and cleaned 1,500 45ACP cases. Now have to sort SP from LP before priming - that is going to be fun. May sort as I prime.

Also loaded up 10 test rounds of a new 8mm Mauser load for deer season.
