I gas check'd about 600 40 caliber boolits for my 10mm GP100. I'll post the details tomorrow but they are home made GCs and a really great boolit:

Scrubbed two new molds that just arrived today. a .269 for my Carcano and a .290 for a buddy's 280 Ross. Just turned off the hot plate after heating up the molds for the first time, do it again at least 2 more times before trying to cast any boolits. Let it cool down while I take the wife out for supper, then heat cycle #2.

On the Fun-O-Meter side of stuff, made reloading opportunities in 275 Rigby, 280 Ross and 303 British. Both the 275 and the 280 are on Oberndorf Mauser actions. The 303 is a 1943 Long Branch.

Too much fun stuff, not enough time.

Tomorrow is varmint shoot, executing pictures of prairie dogs from 50 yards out to 300, decisions, decisions, 22LR? 22 Hornet? 220 Swift? 204 Ruger? 22-250? 243? 221 Fireball?

Last month, I shot the Hornet @50, 204 @100, Swift @ 200 22-250 @ 300. Fun, but too much artillery to be lugging around.

    Gonna go simpler this month.

But still making reloading opportunities for tomorrow night.

Unless I shoot the 22 LR.

Sized 300 fired .357 Mag cases that I picked up at the local gun shop. They had loading stickers on them from 1968 (not mine). Also sized and cleaned with steel pins about 400 .308 cases that have been sitting around. Put a small dent in about 5 gallons of .308 fired brass.

Sounds like what I used to do in southeastern Utah. Start with the 22lr than the hornet on to the Ruger 223 varmint heavy barrel and then finish with the 243. It's a hoot.

Overkill sent me some brass, Thank You, and I had to make some dummies as soon as I got it to check function and fit in an autoloader. The MP 125 HP looks good at a cartridge OAL of 1.090". SAAMI says 9x19mm has a max COAL of 1.169" and I saw a lot of loads at 1.130" so I made one of those and 2 at 1.090". The 1.130" jammed and I got to learn how to clear a jam using dummy ammo. Nice how that worked. The boolits were sized .3565" and the case mouth OD is .378" with the flair removed with a taper crimp. The COAL of 1.090" functions well and looks right just need to find some primers. The notice board at the range may find someone willing to trade for LPs and there is a new gun store store to haunt. Meanwhile I've got a bunch of nice brass to process and boolits to size.

Sorted and boxed approximately 500# of Lead (in CB ingots than sfrb) than put on a new cart that slides under metal racking.

Experimented with Hodgdon Clays for my new 45 ACP. A friend gave me 2.5# of Clays. Another gave me 376 LPP. Picked up a partial box of XTreme 200 grain coated bullets for $10 from a fellow getting out of 45 ACP. The box contained 326 bullets. I'm loading for about .03 per round on this batch. Hopefully I'll have a mold soon and won't have to "buy" boolits

I got about 600 each HP and RN 125g 9mm lubed and sized. Made up dummies with the RN to check function along with the HPs. Started processing brass. It's still going to be a while. LOL Sunlight coming in the window highlighted some of the boolits.

44Blam, what system are you using to make your gas checks? Have you tried them yet?

I loaded up 50 38 Special rounds with wadcutters for testing, which I'll shoot on Wednesday before our club meeting. I try to make the range meeting each month to ensure I get some shooting time in. I'll probably take my 9mm German Luger with me also for function testing.

If only my weapons were self cleaning, I don't like that part.

    JUST GOTTA LOVE THIS JOINT.
