As a newby here, I just finished loading my first cast/pc boolits. Test loads for 40-175-tc to be used on hogs; 80 rounds total. 10mm, No. 9 powder.

This has been a long journey. I started acquiring my hardware last year, which was not a good year to do this due to supply! Over the past couple months I captured some lead, made ingots, acquired alloy, melted alloy, cast boolits, PC and sized final product. Oh, AND READ HERE AN AWFUL LOT! Thanks to all! It has been a ‘blast’!

I've been casting boolits for about 5 years and am still a newbie. I started on .45-70 Govt 500 grain match boolits, then did .45 Colt and finally .40 S&W/10mm hard cast boolits for woods carry. Still haven't tried the powder coating since the Alox works for me and is fast and easy.

Yesterday I picked about 150 22 pellets out of the duct seal backing in my air gun "bullet stop". I have taken up air gun shooting as I can get trigger time in my shop. Virus, panic buying, and health reasons stopped my firearm shooting about a year ago, but I get practice, trigger time in my shop. I sort out the lead pellets from the ?? alloy pellets and will use the soft lead to mix in with my bullet alloy.

Fitting a nice recoil pad to my wife’s deer rifle; replacing the ugly old Uncle Mikes vent pad with a solid black Hogue. I saved money on the pad in 1987 and it bothered me, never her.......

Cast about 360 Lee 358-158 RF. Then went and picked up 120# of lead I traded for the same bullets. The lead has a hardness of 8-10 BHN. I'll be mixin' that with some COWW I have.

I primed some .44 Spl and found I had a whole sack of 309-2220R Lees already GC'd Whoo boy now I can load up some H322 and RL10X test load with my lighter 155 & 160 boolets and the 200 gr Lees.

Was decapping some more .44s and bent my decapping pin. Boo! I checked out my decapping stem and looks like it is bent too. It may be the cap is just cross threaded but depressed, I left it for tomorrow to fix.

Had some spare time this afternoon.
Melted down 16.5 pounds of range scrap and made ingots for future use.
While all that was cooling down, loaded up 200 rounds of 125g RN HiTec 9mm.

Cast about 500 Accurate 40-180BG's. I end up making my own gas checks and shoot them as 10mm boolits.
I've been driving them about 1350 fps out of my GP100.

Do a search for whisper loads.

There has been either here or on the CastPics/LASC(check the bottom of the page) websites an article for stoopid light loads in, if I remember correctly, 45-70, 30-06, 30-30 and 223. 4 grains of Clays under a Lyman 457122 kind of light loads.

The kind of loads in 45-70, when you shoot them at 200 yards and your buddy starts razzing you about missing just before the steel gets rung.

The kind of loads you check the barrel to make sure it is clear to load another round.

    Fun stuff.

Mixed up 50 pounds of Hardball alloy today!! 50 more pounds tomorrow, maybe. Going to cast up some 312-155-2r Lee boolits for .308 accuracy tests, coming up soon as this monsoon rainstorm subsides! Geez, it has flooded here in SW Louisiana!!

Literally, closed roads, high water, etc, it’s rough here right now! Be safe.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!

Loaded some 270 win. loads with IMR4064. Using some of the Speer 170 grain round nose I bought from 725 a while back. Three different test loads to see how they shoot. Our range is finally done and looks beautiful for former swamp land. Will be testing these at 100 yards, then out to 300 yards.

Started out planning on loading .45 ACP and .380s today. Discovered that I didn't have enough bullets for either. So I spent the day casting 230gr. RNs for the .45 and 95 gr. RNs for the .380. Had a very good day casting. 1 reject .380 and only 5 for the .45! For some odd reason, everything just seemed to click today. Tomorrow I'l be powder coating them. Hopefully everything will go just as well!

I use the repack boxes and I found that a 7.62x39 boxes that hold 30 rounds hold 36 300 blackout rounds.
So, I loaded up 2 boxes of 300 blackout and might do another 2 boxes tomorrow.
It makes the loading math kind of interesting. Instead of 50, 100, 200, etc it is 36, 72, 108.
I just know that I'm gonna end up with 7 packs of small rifle primers that have like 37 primers in them...
