Put a steel security door on my reloading room !

Democrats passed some new gun laws this year that go into effect here in Michigan on St. Valentines day 2024 one of them "allegedly" requires guns and ammo to be locked up separately and a stolen gun can get the owner 15 years in prison! Now I used the word ALLEGEDLY because even though the law is passed and signed it is still not publicly published for us to view!
When I think back on all the **** I learned in high school it's a wonder I can think at all ! And then my lack of education hasn't hurt me none I can read the writing on the wall.

Primed several hundred 9mm so I can load them up in the morning (on my Hollywood Model A) when I wake up yet again at 4:30 am. I thought when I retired I could learn to sleep in, but no joy. Then I went out to the welding shop and burned up about 2 lbs of 7018 on one of my small cannon barrels (1 1/2" bore), tomorrow I'll tap it for the removable breech plug and then build a carriage for it.

Dumped the AA#7 out and put the little bit of CFE Pistol that’s left into the hopper and loaded 40 ladder loads to test. Need to wait for the temperature to go up from -10 degrees to +20 before I can use my crono. Next week I guess. Next year.

Cast up about 225 Lyman 358315. Have the mold promised to a guy on the forum. Figured I'd cast a bunch before the mold got shipped out. Used to use this boolit in 350 Rigby Magnum and 35 Remington for two buddies. Was going to ship it out but decided to cast up one last batch before it disappears into the great white north.

Both buddies I loaded for have passed away, don't anticipate loading for a 350 Rigby again but the 35 Remington is a possibility. I can store cast boolits just as easily as I can ingots. If I never use them they can be recast into something else.

I loaded all my empty 32 S&W brass. Just under 100 rounds. I shot all my reloads and some factory stuff yesterday. Got nice comments from the range master and a fellow shooter.

Just planning to make a nice box or two of .223/.556. Numerous bags all sorted, extremely well, and shiny. They are even counted. Several bags are even, totally ready, except for primers.I tried slipping a head in one and see my M die has them, still sliding in, just a little. I spent hundreds of hours but no one wanted.

Finally starting to organize the gun/reloading room beyond the initial unpacking 4 years ago when I bought the place. May actually have the benches cleared enough to setup my presses this year.

Yesterday I used my puller to remove 39 bullets from a group of 32 WCF that I loaded. The Servicios Aventuras primers are hit or miss. Some work, some don't. Because they are unreliable I dumped 900 of them in the trash. I will be wearing earmuffs and a face shield when I punch all the primers out of the brass.

I guess I need to pull 80 rounds of 6.5 Grendel. Will chamber in the AR, not the bolt gun. I'm unsure of what could be wrong, plunk tested them with no issues. But I couldn't get the bolt to close last night.

If the bolt won't close, I would guess it's a headspace problem. I'd run them through the sizing die and push the shoulder back another 1-2 thousandths.

Pushed the 358315 count up past 500. Set up to cast a batch of 375 diameter boolits, just in case. Prepped a block for turning on the wood lathe. Future Christmas ornament. Rose wood and vegetable ivory. Put away the last of the Christmas yard ornaments. Moved a gun safe back into the house. The daughter isn't going to need it as soon as i thought. Got a start on cutting new slats for the cast iron bench for the daughter's house, if she ever gets to buy one. Watched the Michigan-Alabama game. Had perhaps, maybe, one too many Gin and Tonics. But the bartender was nice. And she cut fresh limes for me.

    i don't need scurvy.

Fairly productive day for the first day of the year.

Yesterday, I cast, powder coated and sized around 20 lbs of MP 359-640. I plan on loading these using Unique in 38 and 2400 in 357. Only have about a half pound left of the 2400, so will need to load up some AA9 and 296 test loads.

Worked up a load that would cycle my new AR9mm 5" pistol. 133gr MP molds over TiteWad powder. Accurate as well at 25yds.
