Pressures should be lower in paper hulls. The interior is smoother.

Broke out 50 new PPU brass, lubed and sized. Did some load research for a 40gr plain-based boolit in the 22 Hornet.

Actually last night, made 2 snap caps for a double rifle in 400-350 and loaded 8 test loads in 450-400 N.E.

Full house loads. The kind you wear a boxer's mouth guard when you shoot them. Kind that either cures or causes trips to the chiropractor.

The kind I'll load but let other people shoot, cause it's so much fun doing the countdown until their eyes uncross.

Don't know what's in store for tonight. May go the other way, haven't loaded any Hornet's in awhile.

Starline delivered a thousand 223 cases yesterday. I made up a dummy round with a M193 bullet which cycled fine in 2 chambers and started priming. Lost 1 primer with 470 primed so far. Much lower loss rate than processed crimped brass. Stopped for tea and a snack and headed back out to the shop.

Got 600 primed and 400 loaded.

Cleaned about 550 cases, most my own but a few range pickups mixed in. Dried in a yard sale dehydrator donated by my wife.

After a three hour tumble with pins and Dawn, the whole lot came out dull brown and looking heavily tarnished. I'm new to the rotary tumbler and first I thought it could be because I let them sit. Tumbled again for half an hour. No change. Rinsed heavily and three more hours. No change. Rinsed again and added a heavy dose of Dawn and Cream of Tartar. No change. Finally I ran it again with a heavy shot of vinegar. The cases shined up again.

The reason for the tarnish? I found them when I pulled the cases out and tapped them to shake out pins. Ten Sig 9mm cases, steel, but with a brass coat on them. Those ten cases were enough to dull the whole lot. I'm glad I finally found the vinegar option.

You might see a few dark, discolored cases in the pictures. Those got stuck in larger cases on the last tumble and didn't clean up as much as the others. I'll get 'em on the next go round.

I spent two hours looking for a number 18 shellplate for my pro 2000. I bought one on Amazon a couple months ago, and could not remember where I put it. I looked everywhere - took two hours - then I decided to check on Amazon when it was delivered, maybe that would help me remember. According to Amazon, it was never delivered, they have it as lost in transit.

The shellplate I thought I received was confused with a number 6 that I received from a different supplier around the same time.

I'm happy I didn't lose the shellplate, but not so much that I'm losing my mind.

Took the Factory crimp die out of the turret and moved the seater die to it's place. Installed RCBS bullet feed die now I will seat and crimp with the seater die (Old school). Speeding up process.

Deprimed and washed some 45 ACP brass, on the way to being reloaded.

I reinstalled the RCBS in line bullet feeder to the turret on my Lee Classic Cast Turret press. I am determined to get it to work.

Weighed few hundred different boolits that have been being clutter on the bench. Put some powder on a small batch of AM-40-165-RF they have a number of small grooves hoping they will do better with PC then the boolits I have tried so far.
To answer the above request of how my first test of the PC boolits in the picture went. I was not impressed. As for the AA-40-215-F all four loads were slower less accurate and more violent to shoot than the same loads with lube. 219gr boolit up to 11.4gr AA#9 lubed 1139 fps PC 1088fps and hurt to shoot. The other boolits were also less accurate. (MP-40-160-HP). The chrono battery died so inconclusive tests. Shot 4 5rd groups with different loads of all tested. I’m not really sure what I expected from PC. Are boolits with no lube grooves better I suspect so. More berring surface.

Resized about 500 230 grain 45s and then loaded up about 100. Gonna have a day or two of 45 ACP loading ahead of me...

So the next casting session needs to be 40 S&W. I did a trigger job the other day on my 4.25" S&W M&P 40 2 and it took the trigger from about 6.5lbs to just at 3lbs... And I polished just about anything metal in there so it is silky smooth... So -I'm gonna need more 40s just to keep trying that trigger out...

I came across 200 prepped 5.56 brass and a bag of 55gr fmjbt just laying there minding their own business- so I joined them with some Shooters World Match and CCI #41s.
I also loaded some 50 gr brass jacketed hp ( from LR cases) for play and some Remington 55gr PSP for hunting.
    The .223 sure is fun.

Loaded a couple hundred S&W 40 loads (5.6 unique under a 180 CPFN) for the SIL. Using up some pulled down components.
Then reorganized my ammo storage area.

Sorted and culled flawed bullets from about 800 35-200s, 3/4 water dropped. Set up the Original Pro Melt and cast 300 more air cooled 35-200s. I ran Auto Tune on the PID, think I need to do it again but I had most of my attention on casting. Second session after bringing the old Pro Melt back, no annoying dripping. I'm going to make an old style valve for the PM2 at some point.
