Help posting long tutorial and pics required.

I have just completed a very detailed tutorial on mold cavity expanding (with some great pics)... I have tried to post it under the Mold section, but i get the message that it is too big. I really think some of you would appreciate the info, if only I could get it to post.

I would appreciate help if possible.

    Thanks.

    Make a thread

Immediately post the first couple of replies. This is called "reserving"

Break up your tutorial and post it in chunks that are acceptable in the first few posts by editing them.

    Thank you for the reply.
But is there no way to include the pics in within the text.... so it reads like a book?

The pics are probably the problem, how big is the file size of each pic and how many pics are there?

Hi Rick.... yeah thought as much. There are 15, but the size/s not sure as I made the document in Word, and sized the pics on the page by dragging them.... couldn't see how to find the properties of each, but just copied and pasted from my word doc.

Guess I need to take another look.

Right click on the pic, last item on the drop down/pop up will be properties. Best size will be under 1 meg.

I don't think word will do that but he can look at the properties menu in his pictures folder. For my web site I have software that reduces file size but that'll not do you much good, do you have any photo programs?

Are you trying to copy and paste straight from a word document?

And yes, you can include the pics in with the text. Each post has a certain limit. That's the point of breaking it into seperate posts. They are just formatted that way on the post I linked because that is how the poster wanted it formatted.

So you want it to look like this? (bogus example just using some pics I have lying around)

Step 1: Measure the diameter of your bullets driving bands to determine proper fit to throat.

Step 2: Measure the overall length of your cast bullets for consistency.

Step 3: Measure the diameter of your nose to ensure a proper "bore ride" fit.

Step 4: Measure the overall length of your loaaded rounds for consistency and to ensure proper feeding in your rifle.

Tried it again, multiple times, and with just one picture sized down to 121kb (tiny), still wont post. Have to get some work done now, wasted hours on this already. Will try again another time.

What is the exact message that you are getting?
And did you try my multiple post option?

I just did some testing and easily posted 2 pictures at over 4MBs total (although it seems the forum sized them down to 61 kb each? idk) and max characters (20,000 characters) and it worked fine.

And that was posting straight from the computer, not through something like photobucket.

Hey, yeah I've managed it now thank you. It took a double posting, but im quite pleased with it. Spent a good few hours in my shop getting all the process down pat, and taking pics etc... then a writeup.

Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Expanding a mould the WEET method. (under the mold section... obviously)
