    Making 577/450 from 32ga?

I am interested in making some 577/450 Martini Henry cartridges from magtech 32 gauge brass. I think CH4D has the dies but I've heard it was a seven step process involving two annealings. I have no idea how much (if any) information would be included with the dies. Has anyone in this distinguished crowd done this particular task?

I believe Buckshot has performed these miracles, and is conversant in the incantations and doxology required to yield usable cases. I kept him up yesterday afternoon 'way past his bedtime, dunno if he'll be available until after Burritos today.

California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

I picked up some Magtech 28ga brass to use in my 577 Howdahs, but the base is only .621" and they are about 2.25" long. I don't know if that would be close enough. What does the base measure on the 32ga? Seems like it would be smaller. COTW shows the 577-450 as haveing a base of .668"
I think Lyman was going to make 577-450 dies for a standard 7/8 press?? Don't remember the details.

...........You want 24ga. Check in with Coyote' at:

He's the Grand High Poobaa on using the 24ga to create the 577-450. He also has dies he had Lee do a special run of. They're threaded 1-1/8-14 I think it is. Same as CH-4D (where I got my dies) and RCBS. Requires you to take the 7/8-14 adapter out of the press.

The 32ga will be WAY too small. I've only used the 24ga to make .577 Snider and that's no great shakes. Not much more then cutting to length.
