    All good ones,
Probably the first song you learned in church
Means the most, yes first one I learned. Anything but the 7-11 stuff they put out now.
    Whatever!

It is well with my Soul. Read Philippians 4:13-19. True peace.

Amazing Grace, I don't know if anyone has ever read about how Amazing Grace came to be a hymn, but google it if you haven't and it will amaze you, no pun intended.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

You and I both. The only other hymn that comes close for me is Silent Night.

That's one that I specifically *dont* like.
Seems like every year, the first Sunday in July our church sings Battle Hymn, and I just stand there and keep my mouth shut. (it's a tiny congregation, and I usually sing out.) My wife doesn't sing it either (her choice)

I don't think "Dixie" is appropriate for church either, but I would sing that one.

Amen to that Brother. I break down every time I hear that song. It is impossible for me to understand the level of love our Savior has for us.

For anyone who knows the story of the writing of the hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" has to be at the top. For me "And Can It Be" - complete salvation theology in five verses.

Since I've been singing in Church choirs since I was 16 there are a lot of favorites and few I dislike.

Another vote for "The Old Rugged Cross." Liked it as a kid, and it seems with each passing year, it just means more to me.
