    Suitability of a Scope

Will a steel tube Weaver stand up to the recoil of 375 H&H Magnum in a 98 Mauser? I've got a nice Weaver with a #1 German Reticle and would like to put it on the 375, but I do not want to ruin a good scope. Anybody have and thoughts or experience?

Tough call. I've lots of El Paso scopes and love them. Great luck out of most of them. I did drop a K6 on the shop floor once. The cross hairs left town, both of them.

    Had a K4 on my Rem 700 375 H&H for a long time. 100+ shots, no problem.

Dean, I can say this Ironsighter in El Paso does an excellent job of rebuilding the Weavers. I just got one back and it looks like new.

I had a K4 on a 264 Mag it gave up the ghost not long after a rebarrel so it out lasted the original barrel by a couple of hundred rounds, Robert.

Got a K-3 on my 375 H&H #l. Shoots MOA with most heavy cast loads. Can't vouch for heavy full power jacketed loads, as I don't have any reference as I am at an age where I don't want to shoot full power jacketed loads any more.
