I had to do the funeral services for a close friend and band member.He had lived a hard life in his early years. He was a fantastic bass player.Even though I tried to share the plan of salvation with him, he died a universalist. I loved him and the service was very difficult to do.

Sorry to hear about your friend. It does make it much harder when you know they haven't accepted Christ. You tried and that's all anyone can do. I don't think there's any greater gift then planting that seed.

I remenber what a pastor and friend once told me. We do not know.all it takes is that splint second to accept Christ. In that final breath they may see the light.
I don't know everything, and certainly don't have all the answers. It is up to God. I need God's grace when I make the final call. I pray that he rest's in peace.

But the day was much suffering for me and I am glad it is done. I pray I did my friend justice.
Doing a funeral for a good friend feels like trying to do surgery on your own hand.

Thanks for your prayers and concerns, The hardest funerals I have had to do have been for my brother in law,and my close friends.
my father acceped christ 2 days before he died. he chased women, drank and gambled. the last two days of his life he was at peace and very happy.
Christ will come to you when you pass and ask will you take his hand and be saved.I think if you are good you will be saved.
I read an verse that in effect said "Who ever calls up on me in my name in the time of trouble shall see the gates of Heaven".This may not be the exact wording but I think it has the same meaning.Prayers for you and the soul of your friend.
Are my kids/grandkids more important than "o"'s kids, to me they are,darn tooting they are!!! They deserve the same armed protection afforded "o"'s kids.
