It has been my findings that Blue Dot is a fine powder for 357 and 9mm as long as you use heavier boolits. It just like pressure to settle down and deliver more consistent velocities and pressures. In my SR9 9mm Ruger, it really makes the 147 gr cast get up and go as it does with 160gr boolits in several 357's. It is also a powerful powder for 12 ga slug loads. I feel like it suffers the same precautions that H110/296 does--don't load it down and put some pressure on it. There are plenty of powders better suited for lighter weight boolits. count me as a fan of BD.

I really like Blue Dot in the 357 Mag, I think it's under-rated in that caliber. High velocities and very good accuracy, what more can you ask for?

I have shot a bunch of BD in 357 and 41 mag., even in some 41 spl. brass.
9.4 grs under MB co.'s 180 gr Pugnose shot pretty good out of my 24" barreled Rossi.
But 11.4 grs. of 2400 with same bullet turned out to be better.
Also 9.4 grs. of BD under a 210 gr swc in 41 spl brass was pretty accurate out of the BH.

It's not to be light loaded as I have always read and I never tried.

I've had nothing but fantastic results downloading bluedot. Something like 9mm luger is an exception with the tiny case space, but something like 357 magnum, you can definitely use 38 special loads of bluedot in that with great results. It also works really well downloading pretty much any bottleneck rifle cartridge, it's not far off from 2400.
