The matte black from HF really needs to be applied with an electrostatic gun (ESG) for good results. Here's what that HF Matte Black can look like if applied with the HF ESG.

The HF red does better, but still isn't a really good powder.
Sounds about right. It took 2 tumbles to coat and the first one looked like about 5% coverage. They work pretty good as 9mm blasters but I think I'm going to get another powder from smokes or Eastwood to shake and bake with going forward.

I have a few thousand .358 hollow base wad cutters on hand and shoot them in my custom 1911 .38spl. The problem is they lead the throat of the barrel so I decided to clean and PC some to see if it will stop the leading.

Looks like the good old H&G #50. That has long been a family favorite and I can attest to PC makes those work perfectly but I only shoot it in revolvers. Are those the Miha clone with the hollow base option or an original? Curious if the hollow base option might give you better results.

These are commercial swaged HBWCs made by Hornady.
I coated them with Smokes traffic Blue PC

Those are not the H&G 50. Here is the #50 from a mold that I used to own. Pic 1 is to show the location of the heel relative to the cannelure midway down the typical wadcutter brass (it's the only decent pic I have of the as-cast bullet).
