    Slamfire has passed

It has come to my attention that our member Slamfire has passed on to Heavens Range. Let's fire a volley to salute our friend from Tennessee.

I will join in on the toast to Slamfire. I am very saddened by this news.
He was also a contibuting member of The Traditional Muzzleloading Assoc. He will be missed in many circles.

    May God rest his soul.

I'm sure he will make good use for the lead in those .75 cal RB's I sent up.

My thoughts and prayers to those he left behind.

He will be missed. Keep the campfire burning.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
