McFred; You might want to do a chamber cast or a pound cast. I'm guessing that the chamber on that 35 Rem might just be a little generous. Yes a couple of thou over the groove size is what "usually" works best, but my Mini Mauser in 7.62 x 39 mm has an exceedingly large throat and so far it works best with bullets sized to .309 and patched to .319 or .320 just small enough to push into a fired unsized case. Using what works is always best. Brodie

    Thanks, Coot.

The groove is real close to .357" and bore is .3495" on the Model 8. Nobade's cast projectiles run a couple thou over bore and I patch up to about .359. The PP bullets are a snug slip fit into an unsized, fire formed case from the Model 8's chamber. The Model 8 has almost no throat. The case mouth pretty much ends where the rifling starts and the lands have a short little 45˚ chamfer on them for leade.

Interestingly, the Autoloader's chamber is tighter than the Contender's as I can easily chamber a fired M8 case in the TC. Also the TC had more lands than groove down the bore.
