    Copper powder coating?

I have pounds of very fine copper powder left over from an experiment years ago. I am wondering if there is a way of copper coating, plating, or copper washing my 30 and 223 cal boolits? Any suggestions?

Is this powdered metal powder? And NOT powder polyester coating colored powder?

If it is the very finely divided metal powder, it is merely the pigment used in paints and other coatings. You could rub it on your slugs, but there is no way of getting it to adhere under firing conditions.

Polyester resin baked powder coating is the only thing we have found that works that is in a powder form for boolits. NO LEADING! There are some you mix with acetone and other solvents. There are copper colors available but the binding resin is the important element we are after.

I use powdered metal powders in my antique restoration process. I have bronzes, golds, coppers, and silvers I use to create metal leaf-like finishes on uneven and carved surface where gold leaf is very difficult to get on.

    Good luck!

If you really wanna try some of your copper, try mixing it in with a clear coat powder...

You could do electroplating, but I think you'd find it a very inefficient process for a home caster.

I'd love to see it mixed with a clear powder coat, or maybe with one of the copper colored powder coats. That would be an interesting experiment.

Yes....it would be a total experiment! I have tried mixing the various powdered metals and micas I have with other coating materials and it totally changes the coating/adherence of the base product.....generally degrading it.

Interested to know if anyone does ever try it with clear PC. I do not have any and do not plan to every buy any.
