Hollow base bullets do well in the 45acp round & really shine in revolvers that have oversized bores/throats. I have/cast/use a couple of different hb bullets in a nm 1911.
A cramer 2c 5f bullet mold that has hb pins, it cast a 175gr hb boolit that is .4545 with nothing more than range scrap for a casting alloy.

A little know hb bullet that will work extremely well in the 45acps & really shine in the 45lc's is the lyman 450299. Lyman made them for their 45cal bp plains rifles. The #'s are deceiving because it casts a .456 boolit. The mold I have casts a 185gr hb boolit from range scrap alloy.

The 450229 hb lyman molds can be had/bought for little $$$$ because of the odd # (450xxx). Their cheap enough that it might be worth while to pick 1 up & give it a try.
