    A couple Speedgreen questions:

    1) I'm used to using their stick form, but now that they don't offer it, does microwaving speedgreen to pour it in the Lubrasizer hurt it? I really don't want to use a double boiler.
    2) Does speedgreen dry out, or otherwise go out of date?
I shoot so that I can handload.

To the best of my ability to answer your questions.
Since many people have told me they use a microwave to melt lube and since I have never herd of any ill effects from it I assume that it is OK. I personally do not have or use a microwave but if I were to use one to melt lube I would put a container of water in the microwave along side the lube
As to drying out any lube using bees wax as a carrier will in time loose moister if exposed to open air that is low in humidity. I doubt it will ever dry to the point of becoming crumbly because of the other components but it will loose moisture. The loss of moisture is most likely more critical to black powder lube than to smokeless powder lube.
I have used boolits that had been lubed with speed green and stored for a number of yours and could detect no degradation to the quality of the lube to do its intended job.

I put various lubes in an old ceramic cup, cover with a paper towel, and zap in the microwave. Other than the occasional "pop!" (which the paper towel catches), I have never had a problem.

I use the garage sale coffee pot melting and storage method. I have several pots that cost a few bucks each, even one with a green top for speed green!

I use a four cup autodrip Mr Coffee type. What doesn't get used goes in a large (former) protein powder jug with my stash of unused lube which is inside in ziplock bags.

A couple of questions for bullshop on the speed green.
Was those that was lubed and stored with speed green, just boolits or was it loaded ammo.
Another question, is can speedgreen be used to pan lube?

Answer - both in loaded ammo and in stored boolits.

Answer - yes Speed Green when made to the ingredient proportions originally giver ( 3 to 1 by weight ) is a perfect consistency for pan lubing and has been done by many for a decade.

Thanks bullshop, I was curious because some commercial cast boolits that I had bought, the lube (unknown) didn't hold up in storage. It is a peta cleaning the old lube off, so I am thinking about running them back through the pot. lol

A cheap, 1 qt slow cooker work grea for melting lubes. I use one with removable pot & 2 temp setting, like $20 at target.
