What the "EXPERTS" don't tell you!

I've been casting and hand loading boolits for around 50 years and obviously I (should) know it all. Well, I decided to try some of these gay colored boolits that I've seen on the net so I read hundreds of pages of conflicting information about powder coating and jumped right in. My first powder coated boolits are in the oven right now.

Here's the important warning the EXPERTS are keeping to themselves:
Don't attempt to adjust the plastic cone on the end of the gun while you are spraying powder. Its kind of like pinching a stun gun.
If I had hair, I'm sure it would have been standing on end.

I don't remember anybody touching their electrode, but I do recall that somebody recently who wrote of touching the foil on their tray while spraying, and that it was a bad idea.
    KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.

Gay colored bullets. That cracks me up. We should get btroj to PC batches in all the colors of the rainbow to use in his gay pride rainbow rifle.

I didn't touch the tray, but if you get close enough, you can still have an arc. It didn't seem to hurt anything the few times that I've had it happen.

    Hey now
You will learn far more at the casting, loading, and shooting bench than you ever will at a computer bench.

Warning from an expert....don't touch the end of the powder coating gun (electrode) while unit is energized...Shock hazard may occur and may cause cancer in California. There...we are covered now.

Information is abundant if people could be bothered to read their owners manual or otherwise seek qualified instruction. Power tools aren't quite like a computer or video game where you simply plug it in and start pushing buttons.

    12. Avoid electrical shock!
    - Never touch the emitter (metal tip) of the Spray Gun. After use (and turned OFF),
touch the emitter to the Ground Clip to discharge it.
    - Do not use the Spray Gun if you carry and use any electronic medical devices.
    - Never touch the metal object during coating.

If the OP has been casting bullets for 50 years, "gay" prolly to him means happy, gleeful, etc., not sick...

If the boolits are gay, does shooting them make you feel Homo-tastic?

Or he could mean it as stupid. Like I could say that your ford truck is gay.

I mean gay to be colorful and jolly (I didn't mean to insult anyone).
This post was meant to be jovial. I'm sure everyone reads the directions and follows all safety precautions. After all, we're all adults here.

I have read that as we age we are supposed to indulge ourselves in things to challenge the mind for the endurance of cognitive skills. It appears this step into new territory has it all. Planning, engineering, construction, hunting, gathering and shock therapy. Win, Win!
