And the Hi-Tek coating is so simple! Only thing I changed was the dilution of the mix to better coat my SWC bullets.

This stuff ain't rocket science. Follow the directions and amazingly it works. Then again lube making is the same, some people just don't follow directions.
You will learn far more at the casting, loading, and shooting bench than you ever will at a computer bench.

I spent the better part of a month reading the stickies before I joined, how much stuck? I dunno. I do have a question I didn't find the answer to in the stickies- what happens if you mix all the harbor freight colors AND the hitek together and put it on some boolits? Does it work? Should they be spray painted before or after and do you need epoxy resin applied? I couldn't find those answers in the stickies.
If you think your a hammer everything looks like a nail.

It'll work fine, but only if you run a PID to your oven and casting pot at the same time.

Yep because everyone knows cheap ovens are like Lee gear,
There is no way it could work half let alone equally well as another someone else has spent 400% more for

That is why I love this forum. So many differing opinions on what is or is not good, but it's all said in a goodly manner and backed up with use and experience.

I have read all the stickies & have learned this, HF red DT'ed is the only way, unless you ES another color. you must use a high dollar convection oven or $3.00 yard sale special. you must build a rack to hold the boolits nose up , or down . or just dump them on a screen & shake them. Bake at 250-425F for 10-30min. Yes it's quite clear to me now. Just kidding SOME threads have been very helpful. Got good boolits the first try. used HF red DT & baked in the wife's 'throwaway oven. that is the RIGHT way.. My mind is made up please don't confuse me with FACTS
The 3 people a man must be able to trust completely are his gunsmith his doctor & his preacher ..,his gunsmith for his short term health ,his doctor for long term health ,and his preacher incase one of the others mess up.

I got my oven at Wally World for $15 on clearance! Works great. Get a tub of cool whip, and some non stick foil. Then stop over at harbor freight and pick up a lb of red powder! Everything you need for less than $50 and will coat thousands easily and effectively!

    ^^There you go!!

PC or HT, pick your poison as both work. The most important thing to keep in mind is to NOT overcomplicate an incredibly simple process.

See, this thread has strayed so far from the OP that the main thought, pc didn't work for him, that it doesn't resemble the origin. In the past someone would have called "thread highjack" long ago.

OP's with stand alone posts need to be immediately locked to prevent thread drift.

cant get HT in canada.... or I would be doing HT instead of spray PC.

Just to save the hassle of :

    1:"powder mess"
    2: no stick foil
    3: flash around the bases
    4: bottom not covered.

When they sell the ht powder here ill jump in.

Right now I use ES spray midnight black from powder 456 or something like that, works #1.

    Powdercoat also prevents thread drift...

I read stickies & all kinda threads here for a month or 2
before I felt worthy to ask a question. The site search function
was better, now Dogpile or Ixquick are easier to use.
IMHO DT PC works great but I tried to use it to solve a feed issue
in a steep-ramp 380 and that's not what it's for. Thought it would
slick the boolits up a little, turns out it needs a different nose shape
( hope that's the cure!). Anyway I'm not stuck on PC exclusively
but it's pretty much my standard now. Easy, cheap, & effective.
And once in a while you get a "Huh, what the heck is that?"

I do feel bad when a member is told to use the search function, because as much as I love this forum, the search function is bogus.

As are the sticks. Who has time to read through 4000 post before trying black PC

What I still wonder. Everyone says that the black just has trouble sticking. Mine stuck fine. But failed to keep the barrel clean.
