    Announcement-az gtg

Regarding the upcoming AZ GTG, I was PM'ing Artful last night looking for a way to up the turnout for this and future events. Art suggested a "trophy" of sorts, and the light came on!

I came up with this concept, modeled / rendered it in cad and have it in the hopper to be machined at work.

I am going to call it the "Prestigious Semi Wad Cutter Trophy"

It is 5.1" ish tall ( OAL ) on a 6"x6" base, bullet is machined aluminum

My idea for this is for those interested in FRIENDLY competition, (rules TBD and may vary by event) winner takes home the trophy but has to return it one way or another to the next GTG,
    1) to defend thier title
    2) or to pass it on to the next winner
    3) or be shunned for leaving it on the loading bench when you leave for the GTG!

The idea is still to have FUN but go home with a little more than bragging rights, Who doesn't want to win The Prestigious Semi Wad Cutter Trophy??

Competitions, rules, tie breakers, etc. can be setup before or at the event or over breakfast....whatever, Im not partial.

I plan on having this done by our Sat. Mar 1 GTG and bringing it. I am purchasing the material myself, so all I ask is that if as a group we decide to go with the novelty, it is taken care of and passed on as I suggested.

Use the AZ GTG thread for GTG posts, any posts concerning this concept, post here please.

    Lets hear thoughts and ideas!

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)

We still have to figure out the what competition to do - and remember you have different guns competing
    - Semi-auto pistols, carbines, single shot pistols
    - maybe needs to have some luck as well as skill involved.

I think you will have your work cut out for you! I just got back from the range and the rifle found a load it likes
Measures just over .800" for 50 yards, a wee bit over 1.5 moa @ 100...not too shabby, if I am fortunate enough to draw a deer tag again this year, looks like I very well may use this one.
