Just wanted to say hello. Have decided to get into reloading and found this site and decided to join.
I hope my journey into reloading is a good one and look forward to being part of this forum community.
Hello from Okrahoma. Great site with a sea of info. I hope to add not just take.
Hello from NE Ohio, new to casting but have answered a lot of my questions just lurking about the other threads. GREAT site.
New caster from Wisconsin, got into reloading last year, and now the sickness has spread. Great wealth of info here, and I am mainly spending time just learning from old posts. Thanks for everyone sharing, as this is an A1 learning center if you ask me. Right now I am collecting as much range lead as possible( 4 5gallon buckets so far) and learning as much as I can. Thanks again.
Hello, everyone. Just joined up last week. Wis. Tom pretty much covered my story...started reloading around Christmas of last year and have been looking to start casting ever since. I started reading through old threads and stickies so haven't needed to post any questions yet. There is so much great info already here.
I'm looking for some local sources of lead to get me started. I read through a number of posts about wheel weights and it looks like I waited a few years too late to start casting. It sounds like the great old days of lead wheel weights may be over, but I may flash some cash at a local shop or two just to see if I can find anything.
Thanks to everyone for all the great info that is already here, and I hope I can contribute in some small way someday.
A big hello to all you new starters.
Get stuck in and have some fun, the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Been lurking for a while thought I would say hi
I finally broke down and ordered some equipment, lead and mould lube
Just waiting on the equipment to arrive I’m going to start casting for the tokerav
Ordered a lee .311 93gr mould and 309 sizer
Just getting back into reloading. Been 15 years or more. Actually i can remember using reloading programs on low density 5 1/4" floppies. 22's, 30's, 38's, 44's, 45's, who knows what else. Dozen or so old Ideal and Lyman molds, Lubrasizers, A2's, Rockchuckers. Never bought factory loads that i can remember. Looking for something in the basement and found a 358425,358495,358156 along with all my other molds. Highway patrolman model 28 has many thousands of rounds through and and will do many more. Guess i should throw out about 20 lbs of old powder before i even start. I have cans of H4831 that was my dads he bought surplus in the 60's. That use to be acidic years ago. Like all types of odd weights such as 160 gr rn in 9mm auto and 88 gr in .357(2000fps in T/C 10"). I have to get the presses set up and probably start back up with 38's. I used to be able to shoot 38's cheaper than 22 rimfire. 1 cent for the powder and 1 cent for the primer, the rest was all labor and the lead was collected free, pipes, wheel weights, solder, type. I'm only 50 but my dad was shooting back in the 60's and i basically learned everything from him. All my reloading books are at least 20 years old but i did download that program Reloaders Reference and seems to be all i need. Thanks for letting me babble on for a bit.
Thanks for the forum! I'm getting back into casting after being "gone" for about 20 years. I hope that the old Lyman furnace will still work. I guess that I will plug it into a power strip the first time to make sure that it doesn't mess anything up <G>.
sorry to make this so short, but I have to get back to digging around the forum.

I have a friend back in my home state who has been casting since we were kids. He has finally talked me into it at the ripening age of 55. This is a tremendous resource and I have been lurking here unregistered for some time. Honestly, I may have little to contribute but have already learned a TON from you folks. Today i got 113 pounds of mixed ww for 38 dollars and am beginning the lead collection journey as i read up. It may be awhile before I cast my first boolit, but this is how I do everything. Absorb and study and absorb some more. Thanks for the great site. I hope to someday have something valuable to add to the resource.
God Bless,
Ron
Hello ronbo,
Welcome to the site and just for your info: you joining and being on the site has already contributed to the resources here.

Just wanted to say hi. I have been lurking here for a few weeks and thought I should join.
I just started casting boolits, though I have been casting fishing sinkers for a little while. I look forward to learning a lot here.
Thank you for this very informative forum!

I don't cast as of yet, but I'm pretty well switched over from The Dark Side of Jacketed Bullets to the Good Side of The Force of Cast Boolits

Hello from East Houston, Texas!
As many others have, reading posts without joining was easier. This is my second plunge into casting as I made bullets for many years then sold the equipment. Luckily, the learning took place back then so getting the right stuff was easier this time!
I have many Lee, Lyman, RCBS molds and even snagged a beautiful Hensley & Gibbs 4 cavity in .45 caliber. There are several melters, a Lyman 450 and RCBS sizer/lubricator and it's all put together with the correct sizing dies and top punches!
I reload metallic cartridges on two Dillon RL550's and ordered a replacement Mec 600jr for a Christmas present. Yup, it was sold, too! Dumb, huh?
Sometimes, an activity gets shoved to the background, only to return later. It was during a lull that the gear was sold. GADS what a mistake! It's all back now and it's time to get it going again.
It's VERY hard for me to use the word "BOOLITS". As a retired teacher, misspelled words grate on me. I'll work on that.
The given name is "Roger". Everyone calls me "Flash". I'm fully retired.
Glad to be here!

new guy from Tennessee..
just getting started with reloading, buying the tools at the moment...
i plan on starting with 45 acp, then move to 223 and 25-06
'Nother new guy here, I've been reloading for 4 yrs now (started as a college stress relief/money saving exploit with a lee loader) but I'm very new to casting, poured my first a few days ago, after spending a week (or more) browsing this forum, the lyman cast bullets book, and any other literature I could get my hands on. No complaints so far, exfept my wheel weight source is not fast enough to keep up with my appetite (but hey the guys at the shop give me the weights free, so i shouldnt be complaining). Right now I've still got the feeling of a hound in the middle of a quail covey, but will soon be trying to work up a paper patch .303 brit light target/short range hunting load (here in the deep south if I get a shot over 100 yds its probably not adviseable to take it). So far very impressed and thankful for this forum and its members.
Any man who seeks to live free should keep a Bible on his desk and a .45 in the drawer.
Hello All. New member and excited to be here. Just getting into casting but have been re-loading for many years.
Look forward to being a member and getting to know you all.
Salute!
